Are you a Twitter-er?

Londim

So NSG. Do you Twitter? I joined recently to see what the fuss was all about. It's a meh but I do like the fact Stephen Fry is a constant updater. It makes stalking...I mean learning about stuff so much easier.

So NSG. Do we have a Twitter Collective?

Why does Twitter reminds me of people having seizures?

No, Id never even heard of it till they started talking about it on the Daily Show...Whats the point anyway? when I can just accomplish the same task on NSG and get far more poignant responses...

I had been a little freaked out over how gaga the 24 hour news channels have gone over it and now have an 'old man on the porch' feeling towards it. But I tend to have that towards all the social network things. More of a personal problem than anything else.

I don't but the birds outside do a lot of it.

No. I do not live under the delusion that my mundane daily activities are actually of any interest to...well, anyone except myself. Moreover, I do not find my friends lives so enthralling that I feel the need to know what they are doing 24 hours a day.

I could see it being useful for things like traffic updates, but that's about it. And that one use isn't enough for me to register.

Emphatically fuck no.

Facebook drives me nuts as it is with the constant freaking status updates. Twitter would push me right over the edge.

I don't but the birds outside do a lot of it.

The other day, when I was on the phone with my mom, I commented on the noisy birds and used THAT word, and mom asked if that was anything like that website that a guy on the radio mentioned. I had to chuckle about the fact that Twitter is so common that even my mom has heard of it.

I have a Twitter account, but I seldom bother with it.

this. Facebook's satus updates thing is more than enough when i want to tell my friends what i'm up to, or planning, or whatever. plus FB offers much more stuff on top.

i really don't see the point in Twitter, and more than that, i really don't understand why its become so 'cool' all of a sudden.

besides, Twitter has about 5 million users. Facebook claims to have 175 million. FB is more useful, has more stuff, has more people.... so why is Twitter, all of a sudden, the media darling? frankly, to me, its turning into negative press - the more i hear about it, the more annoying it becomes.

Chalk up another antisocial curmudgeon who has zero interest in the blatherings of others nor any impulse of my own to post things like "omg! just took a dump! Again!"

The big problem with all these so-called social networking sites/services is that the vast majority of people are not worth talking to.

I do more socializing on NS than I do anywhere else online, I'm not a big fan of the whole social networking thing and the only reason I even have a MySpace account is to keep in touch with people from college (I check it once a month, when I feel like it...). No, I don't use Twitter.

My mother however has become a complete addict to those sites and spends about 8 hours a day on My Yearbook or something like that. I spend a roughly proportionate amount of time in a day clearing viruses and spyware off her computer from said social networking sites.

I do kind of want to set up a twitter just to be really obnoxious about it...

"I just took a step with my left foot"
"now the right one."
"yep. You guessed it. Left again."
"right"
"left"
"walked into a pole because I was trying to text the word 'right' to twitter. Nose bleeding."
"still bleeding. Right foot."
"left"
"standing at a crosswalk"
"blue car drove by."
"taxi."
"'nother blue car"
"in the cross walk."

I've set up a Twitter account, and am planning to submit some ideas to Infinity Ward about their next game Modern Warfare 2. Twitter was created to be something of a mini-blog, but it can be used to do more than just that, such as creating a communications network for a business. I have to admit, though, I don't have much use for the social aspect.

Twitter > Facebook.

Yeah, I'm on it. If you look at some of the power-users, like @zaibatsu, it's a great way to spread information virally. You don't have to scrounge through a Digg article or someone's blog for a lead on something eminently readable, like the SXSW conference or election night.

BTW, Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) is on it and I follow his Tweets. He's boatloads of fun to read! I also follow Lance Armstrong and Neil Gaiman.

If you want to follow me: @Xocowolf. You'll read a lot about my dragons, the cat, the horse, stargazing and the (very) occasional rant.

I actually have a friend who is quite like that. Also quite obnoxious. I logged onto FB for 2 seconds and she IMed me to say "Hi... go to bed.. good night dearie".
