...is Cardinal Richelieu. He centralized France and ended the reign of "states", and he much improved civil rights. Of course, many were killed in wars that he fought which required taxes--Lincoln again! Added to this was the fact that personally did not want to fight wars, and recommended Louis XIII avoid them.

Did Cardinal Richelieu get shot in a theater or live in a log cabin? If so then yep Abe was Richelieu reborn or vice versa(I'm kind of hazy on French history so I'm not sure who came first:$)
