Yes, I am. To prevent this being a spam thread, I thought I'd turn it into a discussion on your favourite tipple. Beer? Vodka? Scotch? What do you like to drink to relax, what do you like to drink to get drunk? I'd make a poll but I suspect there's so many options that I'd be impossible to represent them all.

Personally, I drink beer to relax. I'm not too picky if it's from draught and I'm in company, but if it's from bottle I prefer Belgian beers. Something bitter and starchy.

To get drunk I drink only vodka. I simply can't drink whiskey after an unfortunate vomiting incident.

I drink only occasionally, and on the rare occasions that I do drink, I drink only a small amount. So far in 2009 I've had exactly two drinks (a caipirinha and a Sex on the Beach).

I don't like any alcoholic drinks by themselves; I only like mixed drinks.

Not a bad drink, actually.

Although, personally, I prefer "A Slow Lazy Screw Up Against The Wall".

Scotch+ginger ale is a good one.

And how come you're calling it Scotch when your location says Scotland? Surely you should be calling it whisky.

I don't rightly know, actually. A friend of mine ordered it at the bar, and it sounded like a lot of fun to order (female bartender), so I did. It was really good, though.

I guess you could probably Google it.

I got the sloe, I got the screw, and I got the up against the wall...are you sure the second part wasn't "comfortable"?

edit: drink names generally tell a bartender exactly what is in the drink. A "Sloe Comfortable Screw Up Against the Wall" is a screwdriver (vodka and orange juice), with sloe gin, southern comfort, and galliano floated on top (galliano is always referenced by the wall because it is a tall bottle that rarely ever leaves the back wall of the bar)

And bartenders hate people who order those ;)

Might have been. I was already pretty well buzzed when I ordered it.

I don't drink it often enough to have realised there was a difference. I thought the terms were interchangable.

Scotch is a type of whisky, as are Bourbon, Irish, and blended (Whisky is properly used with Scotch, Whiskey for Bourbon and Irish, and blended can be spelled either way)

I'm currently enjoying a very tasty Laphroaig, neat of course. I'm very fond of scotch, but enjoy red and country wines almost as much. Cheers!

I don't ever drink to get drunk. When I do drink, it's one drink only, and I love wine. Especially white wine. I maybe drink once a week.

I hung out at a pub with some friends the other night for trivia. Man, I wish I were 21. I love beer.

Also, I wish I wasn't such a dirt poor student so I could afford nice liquor.

I'm a beer person myself. The only other thing I've had is some white wine, which was OK, but my favorite (given my limited experience) is the light beer readily available on campus here. :D

I'm drunk, too! I had a terrible day at work, and anticipating a worse one tomorrow.

I'm a big fan of Islay whiskies, but tend to drink bourbon or Manhattans because they're cheaper. Every once in a while I get in a tequila mood, too.

Tonight it's Manhattans.

Red wine is good, I'll drink any cold beer you put into my hand, I prefer my scotch on the rocks, and I'll emulate The Dude with my white russians.

That's about it.

Fleetwood Mac did the original, Smashing Pumpkins did a cover, both equally great.

If I'm relaxing with friends, I drink sweet white wine. In my current town, I drink Bundaberg rum with coke. It makes me quite popular. My drink of choice however, is Bacardi, lime and soda. But they use lime cordial out here instead of lime juice so, I don't drink it. Cocktail wise, I love Japanese martinis, and Mai tais.

In the winter though, Port is a big winner. It's so warm and fuzzy.

When I'm just relaxing with a drink or two, I prefer dry white wine or hard cider. If I'm actually Drinking, I usually stick with overproof vodka or Brugal rum mixed with coke or Orange Juice.
Of late, however, I've started to turn on to whiskey and coke. Early Times lends one Hell of a bite to soda.

That be the one :)

The strangest thing about the two different versions...Stevie Nicks has a low voice for a woman, and Billy Corgan has a high voice for a man...sometimes I have trouble telling which one is singing
