Hello nsg,

I recently picked up a harmonica as a hobby last semester, and have been practicing a bit and I am getting better. I was just curious if anyone else on nsg plays harmonica, and if so what tips could you give to a newbie?

Thanks :)

Also, I would very much appreciate it if someone could tell me the difference between the following two harmonicas and make a recommendation.

I played the harmonica in a band, though I was never stunningly good. My only tip would, boringly, be to practice, because getting the hang of the trickier bends comes much more easily after the first 50 shrill squawks.

I have two Hohners and they're pretty good.

Heh, I've been playing for quite a few months now and I still get awkward squeaks here and there. :P

I'm just a layman, but the first one (Hohner 560/20 Special 20 Marine Band Harmonica, Key of C) looks better, quality wise.

My buddy/future housemate plays the harmonica at parties. Believe it or not it gets him chicks.
