your co worker at the pizza place?
Yeah. Last week the dumb ass tried to make a delivery to 666 Crapsack Street. "Crapsack street ends in the 500's, Ken!" I said, but did he listen? No, he did not.
Then he drove the truck off a cliff and tried to claim that he was carjacked by space aliens from Mexico. All as part of some bizarre effort to not to lose face over trying to deliver a pizza to a fake address.

Ken, if you're reading this, I hate you. I hate you, Ken, and I want you to die. Or at least go across the street and start work at Burger King.

We seem to have a guy at the forum who has been hit almost as hard.

ALso, as of right now, if I make a serious mistake in predicting the market, or if something unusual and big happens... my plans for 2010 will downshift 5th to 2nd - from buying a 911 and going for a three-month unpaid vacation road trip to working my ass off and licking my bosses' ones.

That's okay. Since your level of success depends solely on your will to better yourself, I'm sure he will turn that money into several million by the end of the year. ;)

it turns out he had the pizza truck insured for 5 million dollars just for him. seems like that alien hijacking got him back on his feet.

That's another thing: he's a millionaire again, but it hasn't gotten him out of the goddamned restaurant yet. I asked about that, and he said he "likes the health plan we have here."
Our health plan is that if you get sick and don't turn up to work, the manager comes by your house and punches you in the face. Then he yells at you about being a punk kid, even though some of us are quite clearly not punk kids. Some of us are purposefully unsuccessful 24 year old stoners or accidentally unsuccessful 42 year old ex-CEOs.

I should have known better than to go to work at a place called Life's Failures' Pizza to Go!

Sometimes you need a good punch in the face.

this reminds me of another story where a couple pulled a 'Greene Acres' and moved away from the city (after losing most of their money) and now live on a small farm (their home is a trailer) raising animals.

and they love it!

I did pizza deliveries for three years, it's not that bad. He can put it down as "life experience" and not dwell on it.

Paying off the debts could be a bitch though.

This really isn't the story I was thinking. The guy tried to start a business and it didn't work out. That happens a lot. So no surprises there. What really surprised me is they had not paid their mortgage in 2 years!? How are they not out of their home yet? I don't get that one.

My guess is no one wants to buy it, Or he had a lawyer friend appeal, and delay every step of the way.

FLA.

It's not uncommon down there. The banks are reluctant to foreclose on high end b/c they don't want them sitting vacant. (Mold and all that shit). (Depends on how smart/dumb the lender is).

Yeah, because if they sit on them for two years they will owe 2 years of property taxes. Where as if they leave it in this guy's possession until they have a buyer. Not to mention selling the house at current will be at the crash price level, where as in a year they might get closer to what they lent the guy.

Yah. Also, six-seven months vacant down there can destroy some newer construction with mold. Turns them into tear downs basically.

So basically they are maintaining the house for the bank... hmm if they charged the bank for their services maybe they could get their home back...
We need a really crazy/ballsy lawyer here now.
