which do you think gives you the best deal in mobile service? which do you have?

So this came up and the general consensus is that it depends on what you use it for (which basically means you will save money on contract if you are always on the phone)

I'm on Orange pre-pay and it works for me mostly because I'm scared of commitment :p

to get this out the way yes you can save cash if you know a guy who works at a mobile store by getting him to give you a bitching contract

How many texts and minutes would you use in a month?

Personally I use contract as my mobile is my only phone

prepayed, since I'm not really the kind of person who has a phone glued to my ear. I use it mostly for texting, anyway

Plus it came with an awesome brickphone, which I surely could beat someone to death with if necessary >.>

in general contract is the better deal. only time prepay comes out ahead is if you dont use your phone often.

Personally, I'm on a family plan with several other people and we all split the bill. It works out better than all of us.

contract is way better because you can get it when you want so long as your willing to put up with her living in your house

works out cheaper too so long as you and the pimp see eye to eye

How many texts and minutes would you use in a month?

all of them :/

really if you left me with unlimited credit I'd piss it all away trying to get tits off women

Personally I use contract as my mobile is my only phone

I have 2 mobiles though so it might get awkward

I heard that phone companies are trying to get rid of pre-paid now though because they make more off contract?

Is that a necessity?

Is that a necessity?

yeah one is a shitty phone I don't mind breaking the other is pricey (I've always noted you can tell if someone works for a living by the condition of their phone)

No, that's a lot of trust my brother-in-law has in our family. He's the one who gets the bill.

I'm confused. Why not just have one shitty phone if breakage is a concern?

I have unlimited pre-paid, for $50 a month I get unlimted talk, web, texts and picture texts.... which is $100 a month for me and hubby. The only contract deals I could find were $99 a month for 800 shared minutes (or thereabout) with 400 texts (shared) and unlimited nights.......it was bull if you ask me.

I don't talk all the time, but I use more than 700 minutes alone a month plus tons of texting.

I guess if you don't talk or text much you could deal with a contract.

Just put the contract SIM card in the phone you would use most regularly and switch it out to the other phone as required

Oh wow. I had a prepaid phone for a year and a half until I got sick of being ripped off. Now I'm on contract with Verizon and couldn't be happier.

Just got my first cell-phone last month. The regional carrier I went through offered pre-paid plans, but for my needs, a contract was just a better choice...to have the same flexibilty and options with pre-paid would have worked out to nearly twice as much per month, and that's if I didn't use all my minutes...to say nothing about getting a sweet discount on my phone by signing a contract.

In Ireland the network 3 have introduced a bill pay which is capped at a certain level per month, and if you go over the cap you can top up like pre pay.

It means you get the free minutes and texts, and the better phones but you don't end up being slapped with frighteningly huge bills you never realised you'd run up....
