It's a bit disingenuous to say that "our combat mission in Iraq will end", and then going on to say that 50,000 troops will remain in Iraq.

Unless Obama's suggesting that they won't be engaged in combat... which seems hard since they'll be "conducting counter-terrorism missions".

He has changed a number of things policy-wise, but to expect him to alter the whole way politics is conducted is ludicrous. I already knew many of his campaign-promises were surely not to be (though Iraq would have my last suspect); if Obama did not lie about anything, McCain would have won--so lying about his plans in Iraq is not what upsets me, it is his leaving the troops in Iraq that does.

Occasionally, Jon Stewert and his writers strike Gold, like they did here. Tell me what the difference is going to be between Support Staff and advisory staff. By changing the way they are classified doesnt change the fact that everyone's coming home except for a few dozen thousand.

Eh, I dont think we had to change this. I felt Bush's plan for Iraq, within like the last 2 weeks of his term, was ok.

I dont mind keeping support staff and advisors. We dismantled the Iraqi military. We have an obligation to help them stand on their own two feet in any way we can.

He ended in the war, and was in the process of negotiating this when his unorthodox method of conduction politics was discovered. After Nixon left office, negotiations stopped, the U.S. troops were withdrawn, and the Viet Cong massacred countless civilians.
