I was on a similiar game on facebook (which I no longer play), and someone remarked on the facebook page for the application that it was a lot like Nationstates, I checked out NS1, and been hooked on NS1 ever since (July 2008). How did you find this incredibly addicting game? ;)

I was introduced to it towards the end of 2003 and have been playing on again/off again since.

Found it from the Wiki page.

Stumbled over it and decided to check it out.

January 4th 2004, a friend mentioned it to me. I created my first nation the next day, and it's survived ever since.

Eh, a friend of mine told me about it in...8th grade (21 Oct 2003). I've been here ever since, although more of an RPer than an NSGer.

A friend e-mailed me her (now long-defunct) nation details in early 2003.

I took an 18 month break between the second half of 2003 and early 2005, had a look to see if the site still existed, and have been here ever since.

I revived my original nation for RP purposes when I came back; I use this nation for both RP and NSG to varying degrees.

A friend of mine created a nation and I was curious. After that, I checked out these fora and I've been playing off and on ever since.

There was a thread topic about NS on the boards there...this was the summer of 04, been hangin' around since.

Found it through a banner ad, I believe, while sciving work back in 2004.

I dont even remember. I think on another forum I frequented back in...2003ish someone linked it, so I created a nation. Then I kinda forgot about it. Then a year ago, for some reason I remembered it and recreated a nation, but this time mostly to frequent le forum.

Friend linked it to me way back when. I really can't understand why I'm still here, or why I have puppets. Habit I suppose.

I showed up about five years ago. Don't remember why. Since then I've left and come back with new nations more times than I can recall. I've got zero consistency. :<

I was bored and back in about 2005 I looked up Erusea, the antagonist nation from Ace Combat 04, and found a nation called Free Erusea. I couldn't create Erusea since it was already taken (AC04 was from 2000, btw) so I made Dun Eideann. In 2006, I think May 30th, I made Neo-Erusea. I registered on these forums with an email address sometime in June, like 2 weeks afterward. I was still relatively new to the internet in general so I was a bit touchy about posting on the forums and giving my email to random websites.

Some friends at school told me about it in 2003. They got in a silly invasion war with a communist region to try and steal the delegate position. I thoroughly enjoyed wrecking their plan by warning the other region when it would start, so they all got ejected and the commies took the region my 'friends' had set up.

Got bored of that. Rarely posted on forums. Probably a few hundred posts between five or six nations. Then started posting regularly under new nation on this forum.

Jan 2008, can't remember how I found it exactly. The two words high school and boredom are spooking in my mind right now, though. Prolly I-am-bored.com or another forum I spend much time on.

i came here after the iron maiden BB collapsed and everyone lost their accounts. i think NS was mentioned on the BBC Click programme's Webscape bit, but i could be wrong. i still maintain i've always been here.

I stumbled on it whilest researching Micronations back in 2005...

But, I let that nation die after about a year cause everyone else did in our region...I founded the first Skalvia in January of '08, but it was banned, so Skallvia was started in August of '08 if I remember correctly...


although I largely still refuse to accept that the first was banned so I rarely spell it with the second 'l' lol...

Someone on the SmallBall (http://www.smallball.com/) forums (http://www.smallball.org/) started Smallballia (http://www.nationstates.net/region=smallballia) way back when (apparently August 2003; each of us remaining recently passed 12 billion).

Someone I knew had a link to their nation page in their instant messenger profile back in 2002. I've been around in various incarnations ever since.

One of my brothers is on this since 03. He introduced me to it in 04. Been on ever since. However this is my second account.

A friend mentioned it on their LiveJournal account. His nation failed to outlive the year, I believe.

My first nation died when I relocated from the UK to the US, and was without an internet connection for... quite a while. GnI is the nation I eventually replaced it with.

One of the more deranged members of one of my long-time boards told us all to check this place out: he got his nation into Psychotic Dictatorship status immediately, which I still can't manage to do. A bunch of people from there started nations, but all got tired of them, so I am in a region all by myself. None of the others ever posted on the forums, I guess that's why they got bored.

My original nation was Western_shinma, although it didn't have a very high profile, since I probably only made a few hundred posts with it. I don't even remember most of the people that were posting when I was - except I had a long running argument about the historicity of Wicca, with a man calling himself "Satan", and Paratoga? (spelling?) was still posting. If someone else listed of ol nations, I could probably remember a few more, looking at the names. (Japaica, I think... and maybe an original incarnation of Beeker?) I believe Stephistan was a mod.

A friend of mine who got into the game because he was a Political Science major told me about it. After a couple weeks of him mentioning it, I gave in and made a nation. Been here ever since, though occasionally inactive for extended periods of time over the past couple years.

It was mentioned in a local magazine back in the Spring of 2003. I made a nation played around for a bit, got frustrated with the old pre-Jolt boards and left after about a week. Then over the summer holidays that year, I took another look, and I've been here ever since.

And yeah, there're heaps of long time posters on the boards. :)

The server was the problem more than the boards, but it was pretty terrible. I had to be online during the wee hours of the morning just to post without going through a virtual obstacle course.

Yeah it was awhile back but the current nations I am playing with I only started towards the end of 2005.

He said he had found it and ejoyed it and said I should check it out. I did so and introduced to other people who have since played the game on again/off again.

Out of all the internet games he introduced to me this is the only one I still play.

Indeed. Being on the otherside of the world, I generally could post during the day, but not at night. ;)
