"ZOMG! NOW TEH EBIL VIDEOGAMES IS KILLING OUR CHILDRUNZ!!!11!11!"

Will these people ever use that organ inside their head, or have they already traded it for a few flowers and some baseball cards?

We don't have baseball cards here in the UK

And brain matter dies upon contact with the tabloid press, which is our main problem.

err... it's not a commentary about video games but the seditary life such activity 'promotes'.

yes, that add would be just as 'effective' if they showed the family (or kid) sitting infront of a computer or tv.

If current trends continue, nine out of ten children will grow up to have unhealthy amounts of fat in their bodies, a government report has concluded. So even if your kids look healthy today, adulthood could bring an early death from heart disease, Type 2 diabetes or cancer.

The British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK and Cancer Research UK want to do all we can to help parents give their kids healthy diets and a more active lifestyle.

This initiative is part of the Change4Life movement. To maintain a healthy weight we need to both eat well and move more. Many families are making changes that will help them live healthier and longer lives.

For some top tips and great ideas on ways to change your kid’s eating and exercise habits, visit our websites by following the links from this page.

While the Wii and Wii FIT do require more active motion than the PS3 or XBOX, it's not the same as doing the actual activity such as playing tennis or swimming or other sports.

suggesting that video games cause early death in government backed advert is a step too far for me, which is why i have taken action

Obesity could easily be solved by a steady diet of smoking and amphetamines.

err... if you go to their site, you see a girl eating a cupcake and the caption "Is premature death so tempting?"

the point is NOT about video games but the seditary lifestyle of sitting on one's ass while playing MBL Baseball, Soccer, Football, etc on the TV and not in the yard.

Heck, Animal crossing has a person weeding their garden. I say get out there and actually weed a real garden!

it forgets to blame Lara Crofts breasts as to why we now have a whole generation of guys complaining that they never meet women :p

you are seriously taking this way too far its just showing a child vegging on the couch ffs doing what kids do

and are you seriously suggesting that if kids got off there arse instead of playing video games they would not find that they lost some of the weight that gained playing such games

Or they could just not eat endless amounts of junk food while playing...

It is not the video games that lead to a sedentary lifestyle, it is parents that are to lazy to actually RAISE their children. Parents today leave the raising of their kids to daycare, public schools, and baby sitters, because they are to worried about making the almighty dollar, so they can buy more toys for themselves.

yes because a lack of exercise never hurt anyone...

If you compensate for it with a healthy, low-calorie diet, I don't necessarily see what the problem is. The problem is that people don't do that.

Same here, although I can't afford the amphetamines part. Hell, I don't even smoke that much and I can say with confidence I've lost weight. Perhaps even the evil, foul tobacco is something that can be beneficial in moderation...
