Amazing. I am home recuperating from surgery, the wife has gone to get her hair cut and the house is very quiet. Miss Jones, one of our cats is sleeping on "her" chair in the office. Suddenly I hear strange noises coming from Miss Jones. She is snoring, not much and not steadily but she is snoring.
I know our other cat Pixie snores and Casper (RIP) snored, so the question is:
Does your cat (or dog) snore?

Mine doesn't. Hitomi does purrs, and loudly, when asleep, but I have never heard her snore.

Clyde (aka Bubba) snores loudly, but then, he's old -15 years, 8 months - which is something like 90 in human years.
Persephone and Emma also snore, but they're fat.

Buster used to snore, but it was really quiet and you had to put your ear next to him just to hear it. sometimes he'd do big ones, and the occasional 'dream twitch', too. plus the odd bit of sleep-purring.

he drooled while he slept, too. lots.

Monster Paws makes weird sounds when he sleeps that I guess have to fall under the classification of snoring, but they sure don't sound like what one thinks of as traditional snoring.

Poot is 19 this year, Monster Paws is 17.

Cricket doesn't snore, but he purrs softly, while Ruby doesn't make any noise while she sleeps.

Amelia doesn't snore, but when I'm sleeping and she climbs onto my bed, and onto me she'll purr until she goes into deep sleep.

I haven't had any pets for a few years, did have a pug when I was a kid that could shake walls with her snoring, lol

Gomez Addams, The Amazing Talking Cat, is definitely the Amazingly Cutely Snoring Cat when he sleeps. He doesn't do it all the time, though. He also chirrups and mutters and sighs heavily in his sleep while "dreaming."

My cat snores. It's soft, but yes, it's still there.

my cats dont, but My dog snores, although, he is a very light sleeper, I hear its part of being a Shih-tzu, lol...Best watchdogs ever, btw, bark at anything that moves, lol...

None of my other cats do.

Lulu doesn't snore but she 'spits' when shes playing attack. Maybe all cats do this, I dunno. (sort of a spit and a hiss combined)

I don't know if my pet snores or not. I've never heard her snore.

My parents used to have a sharpei that would snore but it sounded as if you pursed your lips and then blew air through them. Uh...I guess the textual equivalent is, "pbt-pbt-pbt-pbt-pbt..."

Sshhhh....He's snoring right now. He's so cute!! A snoring, formless, black mass entirely filling the butterfly chair near my desk. I look over, and it's just this void...snoring. Adorable.

My dog used to snore like a chainsaw. I took her camping once & everyone thought the snoring coming from my tent was me, until the next evening when she was curled up next to the campfire & she started up the snoring again. They apologised to me straight away. :)

No, purring and snoring are two different things. My cat purrs like a diesel engine. People can hear him over the phone, even when I have the tv on. His snoring, on the other hand, is a softer, more intermittent sound that sounds like...well... like a little fat man snoring quietly.

Also, my cat does not snore while he is awake, but he does purr then.

The oldest of my two cats used to grunt in her sleep. No snoring though. Now my dog, he snores. A lot, loudly. Sounds like a grown man.

My cat's purr is the opposite. The only way I can tell that he's snoring is that his sides are moving quickly in and out or if I put my ear right in front of his nose.

The meows, however, can be heard from the front door of my building four stories down.

My cat snores, and purrs, usually simaltaniously, in his sleep. Both my dogs also snore but not as loudly as the cat does.
