I've got Losing My Religion by R.E.M. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_XFMCgeI7c) stuck in my head, I do like the song but it's beginning to annoy that I keep randomly start to sing it and then have to go and listen to it.

Anyone have experience with this kind of problem? What Song? What did you do about it? Did it lead to any funny or awkward stories? Sexy stories? Did it ever make you want to go into the fetal position and cry?

Happens to me all the time. Once it gets too annoying I just put on some other music until it goes away.

Earlier this afternoon I had 'Honky-Tonk Badonkadonk' stuck in my head for a bit. I like the actual song itself, but to have the same three lines repeat themselves can be annoying.

Often do have that.
I solve it by listening a few times to something else I'd like to stick, until I get bored with that one, and so on.
After some time (days), the problem of musical stickyness seems to resolve itself, and I'm music free again... until the next episode...

Yes, it happens to me quite often. Usually with really shitty pop songs that I hate, but happen to overhear somewhere.

This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf1I7zkrHds) would be a lot less annoying if there were more lyrics for me to sing. Unfortunately i'm stuck occasionally saying "Yo Leroy" at random times throughout the day.

"Yo-Yo Yes Then No" by Pin-Up Went Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qEzKNhDjuw&feature=related) I frequently sing along to this in my room. If I tried to sing this in public, it would be entertaining, yet I fear the men in white coats would take me away about a minute in :p. Plus I'm not sure I have the vocal range to be able to replicate the different vocals on this song to a satisfactory manner to start singing that in front of anyone.

I've developed a tendenacy to burst out into "Ghost of the Navigator" at inopportune moments. "...And then, through the miracle of fusion, the hydrogen atom..."

Friend of mine had 'Purple Haze' playing round and round in his head for an entire fortnight. Then one day it suddenly stopped. Shortly afterwards, he heard that Hendrix had just died.

I once got 'Tell Me Why? I Don't Like Mondays' on an endless loop for a day. Was most odd, because I scarcely know the song. That night, I went with some workmates to do a charity quiz, which included a round where they played the opening few seconds of a song, and you had to guess the song title and artist. Three songs in... well, I'm sure you can guess. My team went on to win.

Varies. Yesterday I had ''Valley of the Damned'' by Dragonforce and today I have ''Education'', ''Missed the Boat'', ''Fly Trapped in a Jar'', ''Steam Engenius'' and ''Spitting Venom'' all by Modest Mouse.

I sing the melody of Tom's Diner to myself whenever I have an earworm. It's like musical white-out.

Several times. It's annoying. It happened to me with a song from RBD, a Mexican group. And I hated them. But I couldn't stop singing the chorus of their song "Rebelde". It got into my skull, conquering my vocal chords and preventing me from singing anything else. Even now, if I dare think about that song... fuck!

Y SOY REBELDE!!
CUANDO NO SIGO A LOS DEMÁS!
Y SOY REBELDE CUANDO TE QUIERO HASTA RABIAR!!

I find when this happens to me, one way to rid myself of the song is to play it to myself from beginning to end. Usually when a song gets stuck in my head, I hear only part of the song, like the chorus say. Listening to the entire song gives me closure I guess as I get to hear the bit stuck in my head and the bits following that, right up to the end. At which point the song goes away in my head. My theory is that part of the reason I'm singing it internally over and over again is because I can't remember how the rest of it goes. Hearing it played right through breaks this loop.
