I suspect there were times in my childhood when my parents would have given me away for a lot less than that.

Seconded. There was a time where whenever someone took my picture, I would then turn to the right just out of habit.

Do the kids have parents? Because it would a horrible tragedy if they are cleaved from seemingly competent carers because of someone else's misdeed

Authorities believe Greenwell began caring for the children about a year ago at the mother's request.

The detective said Greenwell "stated that the mother was having a hard time and asked her to baby sit. She said one month led to two months and two months led to a year."

The children's father, of Leesville, was questioned and has expressed interest in getting custody of the children. The mother is believed to be in Texas but told investigators through a relative that she plans to come to Evangeline Parish soon. The state would decide whether the parents can visit or gain custody of the children.

Your parents got off lightly, my brother and I put my father's car through a shopfront aged about 5 and 8, apparently one shouldn't play with a handbrake.

My mother died when I was ten, and even though my father re-married when I was 13, my brothers and I had run wild enough that we just got worse and worse. We all straightened out(for a given value of 'straightened out', some of us more than others)but it was touch and go for a bit.
