Caffine source in economic downturn

greed and death

Well, prior to the economic downturn I drank 2 to 3 energy drinks a Day. (sugar free energy drinks of course)
However those get expensive. So now i find myself drinking generic walmart coffee. My income hasn't decreased but i want to save more money as a security factor. How has the economy effected your source of caffeine?

I drink coffee black and tea. I wouldn't say that my pattern of consumption has changed except that the coffee maker in my office broke so I have to go to the nearby starbucks.

I drink coffe w/ cream only. Was never a fan of energy drinks, tho Amp by Mountain Dew is pretty good. Recently I have gone from drinking 1-2 cups of coffe per day to 5-6 cups a day. Though more than anything I think it has to do with the fact that I quit smoking recently

My machine has a grinder on it, so I still get coffee beans from Whittards, generally in whatever their "coffee of the month" is. I've not seen a sizable increase in price of this, but then I only pick it up once every 6 weeks or so.

I switched from buying coffee from my university to bringing a coffee machine into the lab.

I've done similar. Well bring the coffee machine into the lab (we replaced the one at home), the coffee they sold at university was horrible.

Unfortunatley the net result of this = more coffee drunk.

Learn to live without it. For some reason, the only people who need caffeine to stay alert are...the people who use caffeine to stay alert.

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion,
It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed,
The hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning,
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

Obviously you neglect the substantial cost of living savings.

Well, actually, I've expanded my daily dose of caffeine. Before this, I used to take 3-4 cans a day. Now I'm up to 5, and taking caffeine tic-tacs to boot. :D

Cheap coffee is made from Robusta beans, not Arabica. Robusta beans have significantly more caffeine. There you go.
