Apache Vs skull and bones.

well seems several Apache leaders want the remains of Geronimo back.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29265600/

Seems justified, though i bet skull and bones avoids even a search by officers.

so what do you think the results will be ?

yeah but.. i wonder will the Apache succeed against one of the most well connected organizations in the US.
they might not have actually stole it. but bragging out it should get the organization's property searched.

Just don't know how the tribe will fair against such a group.

hmm... I didn't think of it that way...gasp! Did they get their name by useing Geronimo's skull and bones? Nah, but I wouldn't put it past them.

I really don't see how his descendants could lose. Seems fairly cut and dry to me.

because his descendants are of relatively modest means, and skull and bones can spend 100+ million dollars on lawyers.
Delay, delay, delay. then move the remains before a search warrant can be executed. then say see we didn't have it after all.

Rights of burial remain with descendants. If any "sale" was made of remains, whoever paid got ripped off, bad luck ... rights of burial remain with descendants.

If the Apaches manage to get their skull and bones from Bush, they'll be an heroes.

US law is pretty clear on this. The only case where the law has ever sided against the natives is where the body is so old that any relationship is questionable (eg Kennewick Man).

yes but you have to prove skull has the remains. I forsee them pulling delaying tactics and moving the remains to avoid searches.

Skull and Bones has the resources to just clone Geronimo. Then they give the original bones back to the native nation, and keep the clone.

Then they take over the world with their army of skellatal super-Geronimo clones?

Skull and Bones is...well, let's say, its "power and importance" has been vastly overhyped.

i was reading an article on this in the washington post yesterday.

i was rather persuaded by the argument that there was no chance in hell that geronimo's body was buried where they said it was. the apaches arent chumps. they werent likely to tell an anglo the truth on the subject.

"It's all a bunch of poppycock," said Towana Spivey, a Geronimo expert, a Chickasaw, and director of the Fort Sill National Historic Landmark Museum. He was on the phone from Fort Sill. "He's still buried where he was originally."

Spivey says he is so certain because the Apaches deliberately misled outsiders as to the location of the grave, and a description of the tomb the Yalies allegedly found doesn't match Geronimo's. Over the years, representatives of Skull and Bones have denied the club has the skull.

the remains arent held by the federal government but by the fort sill apaches. the real fight is over whether it should be the fort sill apaches--leaving geronimo far from his homeland--or the mescalero apaches that his great grandson is a member of that control his remains.

if they should open his grave and find that the skull is missing the skull and bones club will have to hand over the skull they have for testing.

How do they intend to prove, if such bones exist, that they are those of Geronimo?

And if they are not Geronimo's bones, how to prove that they should have them because "they're probably Apache"?

If the bones actually ARE Apache bones, though, they should be returned and interred properly.

If they found the skull and bones, bones. they could genticly test to see if they are Geronimo's by cross refrenceing with the remains they didnt take from the tomb.

They can prove they are native American by looking for certain genetic markers. as for if they are apache or not that would be between the tribes though they tend to let who ever claims the remains first keep them.

my issue is that school and bones will have the money for good lawyers which means little information can be gotten from the members about the matter. And the remains are likely already in hiding. So getting someone to talk is unlikely and finding the remains is unlikely as their tomb is likely empty of the cool stuff.

As long as we got to have submarines. Can't have a secret society without those.

I was thinking we'd get submarine sandwiches, and just tell everyone they were nuclear submarines. 'Cause nuclear submarines are expensive and hard to hide under the Hudson without someone noticing.

I am thinking we cut a deal with the US government to Disarm in exchange for an Hawaiian island and several billion dollars in aid every year. Or if they wont give up a Hawaiian island then one of the Fijian islands.

Nah, those islands are going to sink due to global warming or something. I'll take Canada. It has oil, so I can make cash selling it, and it's pretty mountainous, so little chance of my vacation home getting drowned. And it's not like anyone would miss it.

but Canada doesn't have half naked women who serve me margaritas. If the island sinks we can always put in a clause the US government has to get us a new island. besides don't want to stay on anyone island too long otehrwise it will lose that new island smell.

I'd almost be willing to bet that his descendants would/could get financial support from those tribes that could afford it, such as the Mohegans (from CT, own a casino) and the Mashantucket Pequots (also from CT, own a casino).

Personally, if Skull and Bones stole human remains, then I hope the family is able to get the remains back, so the remains can be put to rest.
