Favorite Comedians & Stand up Routine

Wilgrove

Last night, Comedy Central did the premier of Christopher Titus's "Love is Evol" stand up routine, and it was the best stand up routine he has ever done! "End of the World" and "Norman Rockwell is Bleeding" eat your heart out! Yes it was a routine based on relationships, marriages and divorces, and normally those routine suck. However Chris just puts a whole new demented twist on it, that it made it enjoyable. I'm actually hoping to buy it on DVD so I can show it to people.

So who are your favorite comedians and stand up routines?

When even I can remember a thread / topic having been done that did not directly involve food or sex, it's too early to do it all over again.

Larry The Cable Guy - I was at a health club the other day and this big ol' girl was looking at me like I was the last doughnut in the box. She was a big ol'girl, must have been 400 lbs, but she was Canadian, so that's...what, 320 American? Anyways, she walks over to me and says 'Can you spot me' I said, Can I spot you? You're 400 lbs, Stevie Wonder could've spotted you, they can probably see you from space!

Denis Leary - Did I miss a fucking meeting with the coffee? You can get every other flavor except COFFEE FLAVORED COFFEE! They got mochaccino, they've got chococcino, frapaccino, capaccino, rapaccino, Al Pacino, WHAT THE FUCK! Coffee doesn't need a menu, it needs a cup! That's all it needs! Maybe a saucer underneath the cup. That's it!

Ron White - Have you ever seen a healthy-looking vegetarian? They look like shit! They're all gaunt and yellow. After a while, their bodies become intolerant of other things. I'll give you an example. I was out to lunch with a comedian friend of mine, and later in the day he said- and I quote- "I feel nauseous and I have a headache. That soup I had must have had beef broth in it." Your system's kickin back broth? You're a manly man, aren't you?

Nick DiPaolo - If hooking a car battery up to a monkey's brain will help find the cure for AIDS and save somebody's life, I have two things to say … the red is positive and the black is negative.

Wow.. you make a thread asking people's favorites, only to proceed to mock the first actual reply you get?

Way to keep up a thread. 'tis no wonder people start threesomes in it instead.

Hahaha! Owned.

I like Ron White quite a lot, and Lewis Black, Eddie Izzard, and Brian Regan up there on the all-time favorite list. Honorable mentions go to Jeff Dunham, Pablo Francisco, Bill Engvall, D.C. Benny, Mitch Hedberg, and Robin Williams. Standup is one of my favorite things ever; whenever I'm home, I've usually got some random standup playing on my computer, even if I'm doing other things.

I don't understand why people find Americans funny. I've never encountered a funny American standup act, and I've seen quite a few. Maybe there's too much of a cultural difference for their humour to work on me.

My favourite comedians are Michael McIntyre, Dylan Moran, Russell Howard and Ross Noble (at the moment).

It is difficult to play a sport that requires an absence of rain in Scotland, I concede.

As much as comic and national stereotypes exist, I suspect much of the American comedy we actually encounter is popular shite equivalent to Peter Kay.

Something I've noticed is that American comedians who choose to work on the UK comedy circuit are generally a thousand fold superior to their American-only counterparts. It really must be a cultural thing, I suppose.

I don't know who my favorite comedian is... my favorite gag however was one of my own from when I did stand up in college; it was about MTV's penchant for showing nothing but bad reality TV shows and went into how they should make one about Snoop Dog.

All Irish, I think.
Not sure why they're so good... I think it's a bit of a mentality thing over here. Self-irony and humorous exaggeration are part of day-to-day rethoric.

You might want to check www.overheardindublin.com. A lot of it is so-so, but some of it is sheer brilliance.

Like the couple of bums sitting in a doorway drinking when a street sweeper comes past, to which one of the bums said to the other "Here comes room service."

Alex Reymundo - Mexican comedian. Dead funny, especially his bit about how growing up in the South makes him a 'hick-spanic'

Jeff Dunham - The bits with Peanut and Achmed the Dead Terrorist are hilarious.
