Discuss, there seems to be a pretty big vareity of them

My 2 Local boys are Marty Griffen and Fred Honsberger, one centrist, the other a right winger.

I have to say, they're both MUCH better than any other Local Talkshow Host Ive heard, hell they're even better than the Big guys.

KDKA Radio has always had high standards, and I'm glad to have them in m CIty.

I cant say im fond of any of them....Although I listen cause NPR is just boring as hell...Id rather yell expletives at my goddamn radio than gnash my teeth to the old guy with the saxophone, lol...

Oh, what I mean are people on Local Stations. You wont hear Honzman or Marty on any other station besides KDKA 1020. Factoid: Its one of the few stations that can broadcast at 50,000 Watts all day and all night.

on WBT, I like Keith Larson, he's a centralist. I also like John Handcock for pretty much the same reason. I can't really stand any of the others because they're just trying to be local "Rush Limbaugh". The only other Talk Show host I really like are the people who host Coast to Coast AM.

The right-wing blowhards from suburban Milwaukee managed to get themselves booted off of their local affiliate here...mainly because they spent too much time bitching about Obama and not enough time being funny (their supposed purpose).

They had five affiliate stations all over the state as of last year...now they are back down to just one, based in the upper-middle class white suburbs they call home.

I can't say I'm upset over the loss...they were really painful to listen to at times, especially when their ignorance on a particular topic shone through.

As for the rest of the radio, the only "talk" I listen to is sports-talk and NPR. The rest is a waste of air time better spent on replaying AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" for the 4184th time that day.

I steer clear of opinionated talk show hosts, because usually our opinions differ wildy & they just annoy me.

I switched over to a talk station that was on a preset in a cube truck I was driving after I had already listened to the loop of programing on NPR (I like the old guy with the saxophone thank you very much). It was during a time apparently when they were contemplating a Harvey Milk Day and the guy was up in arms. At the end of his rant he went, "They want you. They want you as a new recruit. That was a reference to Harvey Milk, that was his slogan, that he was there to recruit you. That's what they want, that's what they're after."

I decided hearing the old guy with the saxophone a third time wasn't that bad.

Joe Soucheray and the cast of Garage Logic are pretty high on my list. I really do miss Tommy Mischke and hope he finds work elsewhere. Jason Lewis has actually made it to the national stage a few times though I can't stand his favored understudy. There are quite a few others but I find myself listening to radio less and less these days.

jim vilanucci on 770kkob THE TALK MONSTER

is an excellent respite after an afternoon of rush limbaugh and sean hannity. he is conservative--republican leaning to libertarian-- but he has his own mind. he doesnt just parrot republican party talking points. he thinks for himself so that makes him very listenable even when i dont agree with him.

I never liked Rush, Hannity is alot better, but that doesn't mean he's sane.

BBC Radio Solent has some talk, but its mostly drivel and not political, or even interesting. the only times i've listened to it in the last few years have been in the barbers, occasional shops, and when it snowed recently. that and the traffic priority channel in my car puts it on a lot

BBC Radio 4, on the other hand, is world-class excellent, but it is a national station

Nothing local. Nationally though, there's a few guy that I like, mainly because they try so stringently to be fair, even if they're obviously on one side of the issue.
