How would they know straights aren't sneaking in? I propose a test: all candidates must have sex with a judge, and have to REALLY like it or dislike it depending on the gender of the judge.

Living in Metrosexual Sydney, I have to say the market would deal with this pretty damn well without resort to the law. There ARE very gay pubs, shops of various kinds really. But if they refused entry to someone on no other basis than "you're too straight" they'd lose gay customers right then and there.

But "public houses" (pubs) aren't really public spaces. They can refuse entry or service to anyone, since they are businesses and therefore private property. Anti-discrimination laws really just amount to "give some other reason."

I don't believe in reading. I take after Colbert in this way.

I will say, however, that discrimination is not just practiced by white middle class males. Just as there is at least one catchy, fun song in every genre (though I'm not sure what it would be in techno. . . ), there are bound to be one or two biggotted ass-holes in any sufficiently large grouping of people. So regardless of whether or not the actual news report displays a real incidence of discrimination, I can promise you that some gays have at some point discriminated against some straights.
