I am The Mindset

Have you ever been a victim of internet stalking? Specifically, to the extent that you felt it necessary to relinquish your old online identity in order to escape their prying eyes?

That's what's happened to me. I won't disclose details as it'd be inappropriate for this public setting, but suffice to say, it's highly irritating.

In many ways I acknowlege my current situation as partially my fault - I did a terrible thing to this man, and now he feels the need to spy on me. A question this raises is whether privacy should be sacrificed as punishment for misdeeds.

Then why announce who you are?

Secondly, if there is a problem involving the site and someone stalking you here, it you should have reported it.

Depends on what you did to him. If you called him a ****, for example, then no, but if he was the guy you choked until the blood vessels in his eyes burst, then yes.

One, I'm pretty sure he doesn't have an account. These forums are publically viewable. Also, I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually read them - he just checks my postings under the pseudonym of "The Mindset." Either way, it's outside the jurisdiction of the moderation system here.

Yeah, but if that's the case, coming here and announcing that you're the Mindset is definitely counter-productive to "relinquish[ing] your old online identity in order to escape their prying eyes."

You do realise that he could refine his search to look for more than just the user name, but also mentions of it, such as as part of a title or the like.

As for the latter, you are right that we can't do anything so long as it is out of our jurisdiction. I asked because I was unsure and I wanted you to remember you can use that channel if you needed to.

Yes, of course I realise that. I doubt it's within his capacity though. Perhaps I'm naive.

how a stalker would hunt down an NS'er:
step 1: search email
step 2: find account
step 3: make nation to do the search (you have to have a jolt account)
step 4: stroke my cock at the mindsets posts

at least thats the only way I can think of doing it

Binoculars? Those would certainly come in handy for her when she was hiding in that tree opposite your bedroom window.
Of course, she'd have to chase me out of that tree first.

I have to admit I was about to ask the same question...

The high self-regard, the low regard for others, the rather quixotic announcement of a change of identity coinciding with telling us what the previous identity was, and then the claim that an unknown someone reading this forum is cyber-stalking him - a claim virtually identical to one Valentasia made after the moon thread debacle (an unknown someone in NS was alledgedly'stalking' Valentasia in another forum)....

There are similarities...

No. Mainly because all the other forums I'm on are ones that require passwords to view, so there's not much potential for anyone to stalk me across various sites. Also, there's no reason anyone would want to,
