Apparently, the Obama administration has threatened to withhold intelligence information from the UK if the UK reveals that a Guantanamo inmate was tortured.

Aren't you surprised that Obama is essentially trying to cover up a Bush activity? The original threat came from Bush, but it looks like Obama is content to let it continue.

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/law/article5661291.ece

The US has threatened to withhold intelligence from the UK if evidence of the alleged torture of a British resident held at Guantánamo Bay is made public.

Details of how the “terrorist” detainee was allegedly tortured — and what UK intelligence services knew about it — must remain secret because of the American threats, the High Court ruled yesterday.

Lord Justice Thomas and Mr Justice Lloyd Jones said lawyers for the Foreign Secretary had told them that the threat by the US still applied under President Obama. Oppostion MPs accused the Government of giving in to blackmail.

Because Obamas just drank an entire bottle of whiskey and is dancing around the oval office screaming "Fuck the British" at the top of he's lungs? Anyone got a theory?

The reason why doesn't matter! All that matters is that Obama has been less than perfect, thus he is the worst president in the history of existence and will destroy reality as we know it.

Sure, that makes a load of sense. I guess we should have elected another Conservative Republican asshole so he could screw up even more stuff huh?

Perhaps they're more worried about the response from the Muslim community in the UK than elsewhere.

Because the method of torture was so vile and depraved that it would incense the entire Muslim world if revealed?

Probably not specifically, but lethal riots started over a cartoon, and I'm guessing that's what this is aimed at avoiding.

...and again, this is assuming that Obama is OK with the idea, and not that he simply hasn't gotten around to fixing it yet, which I personally think is the case.

Because Obamas just drank an entire bottle of whiskey and is dancing around the oval office screaming "Fuck the British" at the top of he's lungs?

It is! You see, "Change you can believe in" applies to all "you," including DK. So if DK declares he doesn't believe in the change, that is proof that Obama lied during his campaign.

And if he's willing to lie about that, what else is he hiding? Impeachment!

Firstly, if McCain had, in the first few weeks, been making progress in other areas, done things like order the end of torture and the closing of the detention facility at Guantanamo, and simply hadn't gotten around to ending some of Shrub's policies (but hadn't actively pursued them), I would be quite happy.

But even if that was not the case, it's fallacious to say "well you'd be doing this too were the situation reversed, so it's valid to criticize him for this."
