Like making maple syrup and dog sled racing. Also, don't forget breeding and raising beavers for non-sanctioned beaver fighting! It takes a man's man to do those things! Or if you're my best friend, a tomboy with very short hair.

I you look closer you'll see a column labeled gender-gap with a number between 0 and 1 they're ranked by that number. So I want to know what that number means

The bad news. The explanation is buried in a 176 page report. I skimmed that report and found out that the gener-gap is a squishy aggregate number representing differences in opportunity between men and women for a number of variables including pay and education.

I'd have to actually read the report to say if it's good science or not ... and I'm quite unwilling to do that.

*reads* some of these categories are. ..suspect . . .to say the least. For example the fact that Survivability between men and women has decreased in certain countries apparently counts as a negative. Thats really not a sexism thing so much as its a general improvement in med-tech upping life expectancy across the board and in doing so closing the cap between men and women slightly. (Women generally have higher life expectancies than men in first world-developed countries). And how does "Contraceptive prevalence of married women" come into play???? um . . .these stats seem a little less impressive now.
