Transformers 2
T4

What about Star Trek?

I must say I was expecting the new Star Trek film to suck, but I've been hearing some surprising things lately, that indicate this film may actually:

a) be following continuity somewhat, and

b)rebooting the series without overriding old continuity (alternate universes are nice that way).

Together, these things make me hopeful. And if they up-gun the Federation in this film, it might make Star Trek vs Star Wars interesting again.:D

Wolverine should be okay, T4 ought to be good, and I'm hoping to see Taken this weekend. I also reall want to see Milk (about gay rights activist/former mayor Harvey Milk)

^^ This.

Yes, I'll see Harry Potter, Star Trek, X-men, GI Joe, etc. but Watchmen is.... important. It's success or failure, it's awesomeness or horridness is going to shape the genre for a long time to come.

I'd add Iron Man 2, but that will be 2010.

Since I don't watch TV and have been out of the country for a while I didn't know any of these were coming out. I'm interested by all of them except Fast and the Furious, the first two of which made me want to die so much that I refused to watch the third one.

nine! kind of a timburtonesque future noir 3d animation. maybe the trailers are all that exist, i don't know, but what i've seen on youtube, i mean i actually let the hours go by it took to download a full ten minuets of it, and yah, if i get a chance to see that, i WOULD like to.

there's also another forray BY tim burton, i forget what its called, and then there's that bolt thing. those look interesting to me.

those are about all i know of that do.

When the guy who wrote the story in the first place has stayed involved with it all the way through, you know it's got a reasonable chance of being good.

I know I'm going to sound like an obnoxious fan, but there's no "the" in the title Watchmen.

I'm stubbornly refusing to see Watchmen; everything I've heard about it has convinced me it'll be nothing short of a trainwreck.

A horrible, horrible trainwreck.

Like everyone else, Watchmen. While I like the book/graphic novel/comic (whatever you want to call it), I'm not a massive fan so I won't be too disappointed if it's shite.

Also: Inglourious Basterds could be good, The Wolfman (don't know the original) and Thirst.

Star Trek XI - so far only 2009 film im really excited about
Khafra
06-02-2009, 13:39
Definitely Watchmen, as well as the sixth Harry Potter. I'm not too excited for the Star Trek movie, it doesn't look all that great, to be honest. I never saw the first Transformers and likely won't see the second due to a massive hatred of Shia LaBeouf.

Why the books? The books are good. I don't particularly care for modern movies they are all mostly the same.

Coraline (one of the only books I read as a preteen that I liked at the time and think there's a responsible chance I will still like now)
Watchmen
Harry Potter (they always disappoint me and yet I still get excited over them)

are the only ones I'll probably watch in theatres this year. Way up from last years dismal low of one movie in theatres. (The Dark Knight)
Dimesa
07-02-2009, 05:53
None, really. I think some might be OK, but nothing mind blowing. I doubt Watchmen will out do Dark Knight.

None so far have really grabbed my attention but I'd like to see Coraline, Monsters vs Aliens, and (unfortunately) the new Star Trek. I haven't seen much else that I'd even bother going to the theater for and there's certainly nothing that has me fired up.

Enterprise wasn't that bad. Just too much deus ex machina and attempts to explain events that occurred in later series.

Oh god, forgot all about that one. It's going to be awful, but I watched so much Dragonball Z in my younger years that I basically owe it to Toriyama et al.

The Watchman, Fast and Furious, Angels and Demons, Terminator 4, Harry Potter 6, Transformers 2, Taken, and possibly the new Star Trek flick.

Saw Push yesterday, and while some of the acting and editing was medicore, the story itself was surprisingly decent.
