Dominos vs Subway

Domino's Pizza (NYSE: DPZ), the recognized world leader in pizza delivery, is showing off its menu -- and its CEO. After Domino's Oven Baked Sandwiches recently beat Subway's equivalent sandwiches by an incredible 2-to-1 margin in a national taste test, Domino's received a letter from Subway demanding it cease and desist from running advertising featuring the independently researched claim.
Domino's has not only refused to pull the work, it has responded by launching a new TV spot featuring Chairman and CEO David A. Brandon playfully burning up Subway's letter in one of the 450-degree ovens used to bake its victorious sandwiches.
Im ordering one of their sandwiches now for lunch, and I just thought itd be interesting to ask what NSG thinks...
Who is the winner? I personally have to go with Dominos on this one, I think their sandwiches have a better quality and I like how when they bake them, the bread is a bit crunchy like I like it...

I am very doubtful of the claims they make in their commercials. I would definitely have to see their research and the methods used to actually believe anything that Domino's says.

Eh, Domino's subs are definitely better. But there's only like five freaking choices and they take forever to make. If I want a quick lunch or, say, a tuna sub I'm definitely going to Subway; if I want a damned good cheese steak or something, Domino's it is.
Though, we have a...truck, called Famous Frank's. Freaking amazing sandwiches but he only does them during bar hours so I never get to eat 'em while sober. =\

Well those are just pictures, when you go in there, they ask exactly what you want on the sandwich, in steps, first bread, meat, etc...
And you watch them make it step by step in front of you...

Fair enough. I've got in the habit of buying precisely the bread, meat etc I want when I go to the local evil mega-corporate supermarket, and then making it myself at home. Its a relatively simple process that even I can do without too much trouble (and believe me, thats saying something). Plus, I'd probably just go in there and go "right, I want ham, and some more ham, and nothing else", and they'll be like "GAAAAAAAAH! I'M A HIGHLY TRAINED SANDWICH MAKER, GTFO WITH YOUR ONE INGREDIENT SANDWICHES!!!" before then chasing me out the shop with a gun, shooting wildly.

if my office had an industrial strength toaster (Subway's is so fast! :eek2: ) i'd make mine at home and toast them at work. problem is sandwiches made at home end up cold and icky and squashed.... not all fresh and warm and toasty like a lovely Subway.... *drools*

For pizza, if I don't make my own (which, btw, rocks) I either go to California Pizza Kitchen or a local place called American Pie.
For sandwiches, Schlotzky's. Except today I made a great ham sandwich - I used my bread machine for the first time - so homemade bread, butter, ham, tomato, cheese, lettuce, hot mustard - mmm.
Dominos wins on pizza but Subway wins on sandwiches. Part of the reason I feel this way is because I don't really enjoy toasted sandwiches that much.
Pizza Hut fails on almost everything, but usually what they make is better than nothing at all, as long as I'm not paying the check :p

Id love to hear the explanation of this. Baring semolina poisoning, meat cheese vegtables and bread from fast food chains are all chemically pretty identical. To your circulatory system mozzarella cheese is mozzarella cheese, a tomato is a tomato. The difference is taste not health. Unless you mean Subway offers other options that Dominoes doesnt that are "healthier" (Im not very familiar with the Dominos sub selections) but its not fair to compare two different sandwich shops and not compare similar sandwiches in the comparison.

It's Subway versus Domino's...a huge reason Subway wins out is specifically because of their much larger selection and that they have tuna. Tuna subs will always rule the other subs, this is nature, this is science. *nod*
