Songs that make you want to dance!

Conserative Morality

I know of only one song that makes me want to dance, and that's 'Safety Dance' by Men Without Hats. Every time I hear it, I want to start dancing (And believe me, that's not a pretty sight), and I've noticed in my oh-so-wide experiences across the world that many people have a song or two like that, one that just makes them want to dance!

So how about it? What songs make you want to dance?

Whenever I hear "What is Love?" by Haddaway....Immediately start bobbing my head to the side, lol...

Most songs actually..If I´m alone that is.
I would never risk the sanity of those who would otherwise be exposed to my "dancing".

I find it impossible not to dance at the following...

'200db's down' by Ted Maul (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=x6PYBM8HLpg)
'Between the Lines' by Fractured (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yQKdpmHIdAY)

A lot of my music I'm not sure if you physically can dance to, so thats about it, I feel.

What songs make you want to dance?

Any song that "works" at all as dance music. Unless I'm really tired or otherwise really out of it... or it's really slow.

I'm exactly the opposite. I feel incredibly stupid dancing alone. But if there's even one or two other people dancing, too....

None. I am an absolute non-dancer. Never feel any inclination to even gently swing or whatever. My nickname isn't "Rake" for nothing.

Then my guess would be that you are a very social person,
with many friends and out every weekend to have a good time.

Which I´m not by the way. ,)

Most 70s disco hits and Michael Jackson's songs like Bad and Smooth Criminal. Blame It On The Boogie! These especially, but basically all kinds of danceable songs too.

The only songs that comes to mind are "Jump Around" by House of Pain and "Insane in the Brain" by Cypress Hill

I will pretty much dance to anything but when those songs come on which seldom happens I almost have to get up.

Every time I hear [the Safety Dance], I want to start dancing (And believe me, that's not a pretty sight)

...especially if you're doing the actual safety dance.

Mine would be Beethoven's Turkish March. And no, that's not a typo. :D

This is a little boppy tune my kids found; there are two versions, called "Caramelldansen. This YouTube vid comes in 2 versions:
English, fast version. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkpX95-Y5cQ)

and the Caramelldansen Swedish, original slower version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anEVeN4K-SY)

I like them both - but that "speedycake remix (as it is called, according to the Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caramelldansen)) seems to demand the listener start bopping around.

Alternatively, something like what young Mr. Wallonochia suggests below:

oh my a Jerry Lewis .. Sam is cool ... I know many ppl, at least here, sweat Jerry, but back in the day Jerry was hot imo. Had good arms and hands too /swoon. His goofyness on and seriousness off, sigh. Dino was supposibly the lady bringer in their movies I guess. Get outta here.. off camera Jerry owned Dino to me. Dino was cool tho, I'm not talking bad about the man.

Prodigy - Firestarter (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=X8y8fkC4ug8) (at about 120dbs, with a really amazing amount of bass, after 10 shots at the bar, this is best song ever)

I have a funny anecdote about that tune - there's this new entity in our region that can qualify it.

From the Animal House soundtrack: Otis Day and the Knights, "Shout".

Not only makes me want to dance, it makes me want to wrap myself up in a sheet and thrash around on the floor.

Come to think of it, when it first came out that's exactly what I did ;)

Breakbeaty Dancey stuff... Like the Prodigy, but also this (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=xV_mTIuO5io&fmt=18) 'cos of the rhythms (although hybrid remixes tend to be a bit more hardcore).

Funky house like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F52dx9Z0L5k) (and if you like slowmo jumping dogs that video will appeal), and most of the stuff by jamiroquai (great baselines).

And to my eternal shame, this (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mXUMSMPB4Fs) always gets me going after a few drinks*
