I might be gone for a while...

Or not...but it is looking that way. My wife and I are moving to a new location...and when I will get the internet again will be uncertain. We decided that we needed to move to a place where we could make room for our soon to be son.

It is only a few miles from where we are living now, but due to finances, and this shitty economy, I do not know if and when we will be getting internet service. It is free at the place we have now, but it will not be at the place we are moving to.

It is a shame because I just got used to posting on here again after a good year plus hiatus from here, only to once again have life get in the way. It tends to do that to the best of us at times...

Does life ever get in the way of here for you? It always seems to go that way for me.

I wish you well. Have a good vacation from NSG.

Have a fun trip, don't be gone too long, or LG will come and pie you to death!

Hopefully it is a short one. Our new landlord says our wireless device may work off of his router at his house next door, but if it doesn't it may be a bit before we can afford some good internet service.

If that happens I hope a long-running thread is created with pics.

I know.

I don't think that it will be a year before I am on here again (maybe a month or two) but the last time I was gone for a year it seemed like NSG was a whole new place when I returned...

I know.
Well if your son gets born before you come back, best of luck with all that, my father told me it was the hardest job he could ever imagine.

Nah, it's the same as ever. People trying to sound intelligent about the economic/political issues of the day and zany news stories which somehow get diverted to the former or shut for being too hilarious.

Well let's just hope that I have an easier time.

We'll miss you. Remember budget twice as much for diapers than you think and at many public libraries internet access is free.

Quite. The only advice I can give is not to teach your child too much maths in the early years, it sets us up for a life of boredom at school

I dunno... instead of WYTYG and Bottle resisting the 'charms' of forumites we have the Spanish lass, and eh everyone else is about the same. Just a bit older.

Math is one thing I was never good at. So no need to worry there.

Then I am looking forward to coming back soon hopefully.

Too bad there aren't many libraries around here. (at least not many that I know of)

Ah, well.....if it takes you longer than I think to get back remember the first 2 years of your baby's life are really important so do what you can to help them out.

Well I won't be around much for the first 3 months as I will be working 3 (now possibly 4) kitchen jobs to support the family. The money I will be making will not be astronomical, but it will be enough to get us through the rest of the year if I take some good time off after the summer.

Did your wife apply for WIC? It could really help out a lot.

We are strongly considering it, but I got some offers this summer that I just couldn't refuse.

And living in a tourist town, those offers are hard to come by.

You're not going because you're being chased by the Mafia are you?

I would really recommend it. They'll give you food now and after she has the baby. If she's breastfeeding she'll get the same food she would get now and if she formula feeds she'll get free formula.

If you pay taxes you've been paying for it already so it's kinda yours for the taking.

I was on WIC with my second child because my husband lost his job and the formula she needed was too expensive for us, they paid for all of her formula, I don't know what we would have done if we hadn't applied.

How do you apply? Do you go to your local gov't office? or apply online?

Dude, wifi next door? Build a Yagi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yagi_antenna) antenna! Here's a nice design (http://www.oreillynet.com/cs/weblog/view/wlg/448).

Oh yeah and google kismet and aircrack. ;)

Nice of him to offer... good luck and enjoy your new place and new future supervillain!
