Something makes me want to take your lunch money. Might be the bow tie.

The following are the reasons I am not going to post a picture of me smoking:

I don't like pictures of myself in general.
I'm poor right now and to get the smoking fix have dusted off my old pipe...if you think that bow tie looked silly, a dude smoking a tobacco pipe in this day and age...goofy looking...
Pictures of yourself smoking might only be second to pictures posing next to your factory spec low cost sports car on the 'internet/myspace douche bag photo' list of things to do.

That might be understandable, if you look like I do.

And what, may I ask, is wrong with that?

I couldn't give a crap about what is and isn't "natural", but there are so many things wrong with that outfit, that I would indeed be cheering on that taking of your lunch money that was mentioned previously, all the while shouting cues to have the bully exact the type of punishment such a vile lack of even a rudimentary sense of fashion propriety should lead to, with the side result of having the ensemble (and I use that term blasphemously) forever effaced and precluded from any continued nightmarishly ghoulish existence.

As for smoking, that's just disgusting (so, so, so disgusting, wretched, stomach churning) and libido poison (while that outfit was a libido electric chair), the latter in quite the literal sense, as one of the earliest sign of the small vascular disease it leads to is impotence. Hence, eeuw.

You remind me of a psychiatrist I had at college, whom I took to calling "Dr. Bowtie" so frequently that I actually forgot his name, until my mom came across an article about him in the paper a few months ago. Apparently he had his license taken away after he had an affair with a student/patient. I guess she had a thing for bowties.

Strangely, the smell of other people's cigarettes makes me very nauseous... yet I've smoked during different periods of my life, for months at a time.

I'd post a picture, maybe, but no one has ever caught me smoking on film. I usually only ever smoked on break at work.

I smoked when i was drinking with some friends once.
They asked me to get cigarettes and some soft drinks, so out i went, half running half gasping for air (i was pretty unfit at the time), run in, get the soft drinks from the shelf in the store. look around frantically for the cigarettes, ask drunkenly where they are (this is at about 3 in the morning), run back to the flat with my haul.
After much encouragement i take a few puffs of one and then have to abandon it. It tasted foul. I awoke the next day with my lungs on fire, horrible horrible stuff.

hmmm, i don't mean to interrupt but if you hated water and you told a swimmer i suppose they'd be alerted to this fact and avoid taking you swimming, and generally helping you stay happy, or less upset.

So if you hate smoking and say so in a thread about smoking this isn't unrealistic (it's a way of either encouraging others to change their behaviour or polarise two opposing ideas of what the implications of smoking are), although it may provoke people to debate about it.

well it might not stop or change a persons behaviour. But they might at least think about changing it, or look at their opinion on whatever topic you're discussing.
Typically people only hold strong views or opinions on a topic if they have experienced a very personal issue with it (e.g. say a person hates dogs because they were attacked by one), and if this view is on a controversial topic and two people hold strong opposing views on it...well God help us, or if God isn't your thing then LG will have to do for now.

I don't smoke, but if someone offered me what was considered an excellent quality cigar, I'd probably give it a try. The smell has never bothered me, and I don't care who smokes or why. *snip*

Everyone knows smoking *is* bad. It's not a question whether it is vile, disgusting and unhealthy - it's also pleasant and addictive. If you've never been a smoker then you can't understand. It's also a huge stress reliever. There is nothing that makes a five minute break actually worth taking than having a nice smoke. I got addicted again when I was writing my BA thesis.

I don't think It's anyones place to judge, even if they are right about it being a bad habit. Personally It's a habit I'm trying to break but I'm also not going to deny myself the occasional smoke. For myself I draw the line at buying packs of smokes. Thats another reason I like those cigarillos, because I can buy singles or 5er's.
