Clinically depressed poodle? Dogs can be clinically depressed?

Strangest headline I've ever seen.

Yup, RhynoD, oddly enough animals can and do suffer from depression. Have you seen what happens when a caged bird loses its partner?

Fair enough. Don't see how that would make it spontaneously violent, though.

An anger fit. It can happen and depression can trigger such.

Good thing my dog isn't depressed then. He could literally rip my face off and use it as a chew toy if he so wished.

Humans are animals. If we can be <insert mental illness here> what's to say any other animals can't be too?

I don't think to hurt any of us on purpose anyway. He's a baby (literally only 8 months old) and is incredibly friendly.

Irish Staffordshire Bull Terrier:

The one in the pic isn't mine but that's what they look like. Are highly recommended for families with children as they are incredibly protective, loyal and intelligent.

I see. It's a slightly big dog, no wonder you're careful about playing with it or depression.

We're not that careful. Me and my brother wrestle with him. It's all play fighting. It's even funnier if he actually pins one of us. He'll have his front two paws on your chest then just lick your cheek and let you go.

Ah, poor guy.

Anyways, forgive me for being rather shallow, buuuuut....

That photo in the Fox News article features a woman in a bikini with cellulite on her cellulite. I thought that was solely an American *shudder* phenomenon.

Oooh, and can I point out that nobody has bashed Fox News yet in this thread? :D

Wait till they rejig the headline to "Heroic dog savages surrender-monkey after liberal values make it depressed, Obama to blame!!" That should angry up the blood enough for a fine spot of fox-hunting.

In her spare time, my mom breeds pedigree cats (Ana is from one of those breedings). In the first litter, one of Crystal's four kittens was born with a birth defect. Despite surgery, the poor fellow died after a day. :(

Crystal was clearly worried over not being able to find that kitten, and it took some time before she was back to normal.

Lucky Star sucks. Of course, it always takes them five minutes or so to figure out which end to suck.

The human brain is more complex and more is demanded of it then, for instance, the brain of a dog. So there is more room for humans to go completely wrong.
Oooh, and can I point out that nobody has bashed Fox News yet in this thread? :D
Fine then, here we go (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,481406,00.html). The headline makes it sound as if the woman was stabbed to death, and then decapitated sometime later. Perhaps by a morgue worker who was concerned about the eminent zombie threat.

Yes, there's more room. But our brains are NOT substantially different from most higher order mammals. It's an illusion we've created to make ourselves feel special.

Dogs are not of a higher order. Nor are cats, birds, etc.
Now, if you want to talk apes or monkeys, that's a different story. Dogs? No.

He was popularly known in the UK as George Bush's poodle

No, that would be either "Juvenile court to try shooting defendants" or "Deaf convict granted new hearing".

I've seen many animes manage to use the same panel for 5 minutes and still have you on the edge of your seat.

They weren't talking about dessert...
