The cottage used in the film Withnail and I is up for sale. A mere snip at £145,000. I suggest we club together and buy it for alcohol themed holidays.

Although I watched the film in a questionable state of sobriety, it seemed a failr large, well appointed place. However derelict, it's good value for £145,000.
I'll pay for it...
Though not for at least the next 100 years.

145,000? That's less than I paid for my house, damnit.

Too true, want to avoid any burglary.
I do think this would be a good business proposition - rent it out to people for drunken weekends

Then they can play the Withnail drinking game: match the on-screen imbibing.
Casualties a-plenty.

Given the state of the economy in California and the remote possibility that I'll lose my pension, I'll stay on as caretaker - for a reasonable recompense.

Think I'll give the lighter fluid a miss, and move straight to the part where we stagger into the Penrith Tea Rooms, drunk as skunks and twice as smelly, and start upsetting people.
