Anti-Social Darwinism

Apparently, his approval rating was higher in other countries. In one, it was as much as 80%. And, for a wonder, people named their children after him. Are they misguided? Is this a case of "no prophet is without honor, save in his own country?" Or is it all just a matter of perspective?

Bush has done more for Africa than any other president to date and I think that will be one of the true bright spots of his record in the years to come. He deserves praise for that.

You mean actually increasing the spread of AIDS by promoting Abstinence Only education in Africa and mandating it to American money? I'm surprised the continent isn't brimming with HIV positive pregnant teenagers by now.

Shoot, at least he promoted some kind of sex education, something previous presidents definitely can't claim. He also provided billions of dollars for treating AIDS patients, saving many lives in the process; as much as Bush might have mangled other things, he definitely made steps in the right direction after years of utter neglect.

In the same way you could consider the 18th Amendment and Prohibition some kind of alcohol abuse education.

And just as damn effective too.

No, not at all. Abstinence-only education may be deeply flawed, but it is factually true that abstaining from sex will reduce or eliminate the risk of contracting STDs. You're not banning sex and enforcing the ban with Elliot Nesses all over the place, you're telling people factually true information that may be of use to them.

It's basically fighting with one hand and four fingers on the other tied behind your back, but it can still have some benefits, especially in places where existing sex education is sorely lacking.

you could sort of hop around for a bit and find a sharp piece of metal to get yourself free. then use the rope to strangle the other person...either way i wouldn't advise fighting while tied up. tends to result in a sore head and torso.

Like any president, he had bright spots and dull patches during his term. I predict that, as Sec. of State under Jeb, there will be a renaissance of W, whereby his skill as a tactician and statesman will be fully recognized. Think Kissinger, but with more charm and grit.

Its because they thought he was damn funny. That's why he'll be missed, no more lulz.

I guess, if only to avoid killing normal human beings incapable of handling a pneumatic penis or gear-filled vagina.

Yahbut in parts of africa they think babyraep is the cure. (And if not that, then Dr. Onion)

So anything, really, is a massive step forward. And you have to remember that these people are pretty fundie themselves, so you are limited in what you can tell them in the first place. (Indeed, I am amazed that Dr. Onion was not mandated as part of this).
