Black UFO Triangles

What happened to them?
They have been observed since 1940 (or maybe earlier) and been spotted zillion times.
But now I don’t see those black UFO triangles anymore in the news.
So what happened to them? Being kidnapped by other UFOs?

Looks like a US spyplane to me.
nothing happened to THEM. what happened was to "the news".
ufos don't sell post toasties and the corporate media isn't going to entertain us with anything unless it either does, or contributes to the corporate mafia's political entrenchment.
ufos don't matter anyway either, because the're either joyriding alien brats, or alien anthropologist. sort of "move along, nothing to see here".
besides the only time you see them is when their cloaking devices malfunction, and since we don't know how to fix them for them ...
(although the day might come when we do, maybe it already has, but i don't think joe's garage can get the parts)

Dunno about the strange black triangles with lights... I sure know a lot of strange other polygons with lights.

I'd be willing to bet they were experimental aircraft that have been discontinued for a better model. Still, sixty years is a good run for a design...

The development of the F16 started in 1965 and in 1973 it was airborne. Little later armies around the world ordered their F16s.
I don't think that, since the 40ties, some country is building an amazing plane but not, yet, is releasing it.
i believe the objects in question were supposed to have behaved in ways airfoils are inherently incapable of, whatever resemblance they might otherwise have born.

Cool, a UFO thread. I've seen a few ufos never very close though. About five times overall ... All of the sightings were just past the west arm of Shawnigan lake BC (Vancouver Island). Once I saw one much closer up than usual. It was hovering over the high tension power lines and I could vaguely make out a sort of oval shape - it looked metallic but was faintly glowing. I watched if for a while then if hovered off over the trees and the shot up and was gone in less than a second. All the others were much further away so I couldn't make out any details but they also took off really f'ing fast one they decide to go. I don't blame anyone if you don't believe me but I'm hoping someone here might have also seen one!

I did once, it happened 35 years ago. I was sailing with my father at the North Sea, 40 km from the coast and at the evening fall, we saw an object rotating and flying in our direction. It had several rotating red lights. We both felt weird about it. But later my dad said it was probably a helicopter or something. We never talked about it again till three years ago. I talked about that UFO experience, but he said he couldn’t remember anything.
In my memory, the picture of the object is still very sharp. It looked like a kind of rotating satellite.
But that doesn't mean that I really saw an alien vehicle. I know that memories are not trustable and that I later could have added 'details' which were not there.

Well I have a UFO/alien book some where around basically talking about the possible existence of aliens and UFO's and the history of them. In one part of the book it mentioned one of these sightings of what BK is talking about, it was over Amsterdam (or some large Dutch town) and many people including police officers all saw a large black triangle move over the sky.

No rotating lights for me. I forgot to mention that once I also saw a helicopter going really fast in the same direction just afterwards. Mabey Canadian Mil chasing a blip on their radar? (Not the one time I got a good look though.)

Yes, they were popular in the beginning 90ties in Belgium and Holland.
I remember that a Belgian F16 chased one and that policemen saw them too.
"The Belgian Air Force scrambled F-16s to pursue the craft once it was spotted on ground radar systems. The fighter pilots and radar operators reported that the object would dart ahead at incredible speeds every time they finally had a radar lock on it. One pilot reported the object's speed at over 900 knots. After nine confirmed target locks the object finally vanished from their screens."

Last one that happened down my neck of the woods (well, out in the countryside, rather than central Bristol) was observed by a bunch of guys who'd been drinking cider all afternoon in a field.
Obviously it was a hugely slow news day, as the fact they'd all been drinking was glossed over by the news programme and they were reporting it seriously.
Admittedly, the thing which somewhat holes my argument is that a police helicopter followed it for a bit and some RAF fighters were scrambled when it popped up on RADAR, although the latter couldn't actually find it, if I remember the story correctly.

sci-fi seems to do quite well at the box office :p
besides the only time you see them is when their cloaking devices malfunction, and since we don't know how to fix them for them ...
why fix those who violate our airspace? I'd say given the objects regularity we could just work out a method to shoot them down (maybe we could create a strong ground based magnetic field and simply throw them at the Earth?)
then we begin the gang probing!

Or perhaps that doesn't really matter, considering it doesn't seem to have any way to hover. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that almost definitely does not look like a VTOL aircraft.

Well, it was the ingenious pocket knives with all the tools inside that proved the case for me. Only aliens could engineer something like that. *nods*

I don't know. What's 40 years for aliens? Maybe they have another feeling with time. Unless they watched 'Pimp my UFO' on Alien TV, I don't think it is making any difference.
Besides, those triangles were still popular a decade ago.

Magical 1-ton chickens?Well, they don't have to be magical, so much as extremely skilled at flapping their wings enough to not only get them to that height, but to hold them there relatively stable, while still being on fire.
That's the whole problem, ya gotta deduct the fanciful from the probable.
