Well this is about weird things you ate but found delicious, I ended up eating Rocky Mountain Oysters and Haggis but they were awesome. So NSGers, what did you eat that was strangely delicious?

Err not exactly strangely delicious, but the couscous with onions, almonds, lemon juice and, crucially, blood pudding I just had was top.

Open your mouth. Now close it. Whatever crap you just swallowed that was floating around in the air cannot be anymore disgusting than crickets. Crickets are at least high in protein. Smog isn't.

So, I'm sitting in a little corner sushi bar in Fukushima, with Christopher Walken.
He told me to ask for Tako. I thought he meant tacos. He said that it would be good. So I asked for three. They brought me three octopi. Upside down, their tentacles splayed and folded up underneath their body sacs or whatever the fuck.
So, I said to Walken, I said "Dude, not funny".
And he told me something important.
"Your offense is offensive, your disgust is disgusting. Yet, I find, your humorlessness is humorous. That's not their genitals. Between their legs, no, that's something else. That's a hold new world, an experience your little mind desperately needs. And it has sucker cups."

I dunno, I find chemical to be a lot less disgusting than biological. I mean, water's a chemical.

Heaps of times, delicious when cooked correctly.
I've had snails a few times, but the most recent time I had them, they were still in their shells & one of the snails had its eyestalks poking up. I didn't eat that one.
I had a Vietnamese Pho with coagluated pigs blood & tendons. It was a challenging.

I was raised in a family that did a lot of hunting and trapping, and we were too poor to be really picky, so I eat pretty much anything you put in front of me(excepting of course those things which aren't food/are toxic/etc.)

Ever chew on a rubber band? It's much the same, except add in a fishy taste as well.

Only if it's cooked poorly. Like a couple other people said, squid and octopus are fantastic if done right. A good calamari steak pan fried in olive oil and onions is hard to top for seafood.
One 'strangely delicious' thing for me is pig innards. I like it all. Stomach, intestines, liver, kidneys, the whole deal.

The only offal I just don't particularly like is liver.

Go to Korea. There are places there that you pick an octopus out of the tank and it is on your plate in no more then 3 minutes and it is still moving. Now that's what I call fresh.

Rich Tea biscuits dipped in a salsa sauce.
Really good because of the sweetness of the biscuits contrasts nicely with the salsa.
Except that no-one believes me and aren't willing to try it :p

Ah you crazy Dutch, with yer crazy sense of humour
mayonnaise and onions (INSTEAD of syrup) on pancakes. a french canadian turned me on to that one.
offal is awful, but liver flavored onions are great (liver and onions, but with lots of onions and only a little liver)
i'm not sure what that internal organ in foul called gibblets actually is but i love a cream soup with those of chicken or turkey in it. my wife actually doesn't, and refuses to let me have liver in the house either.
most wild meat is good, but small creatures = too many bones and too much work for too little meat, and bear meat tastes good but is like chewing on tires before you can swallow it, unless its marinated like forever.
as for chitinous invertebrates, i just don't like the taste of the crunch. i'm just not a crunch person anyway.
cow tongue and heart are good too. but brains, NO. brains of anything, even crustations, no thanks.
stuffed and divined squid are great. i've made (prepared and cooked) those myself.
tuna or chicken and mild cheese crepes are wonderful, but not that unusual i don't think.
on the sweet side, green tea ice cream is wonderful. (but remember wasabi isn't the same thing, wasabi is a variety of horseradish that happens to be the same color).
there was also something i had once and have never seen since, it was kind of like a gummy pretzel, think pretzel shape bent gummy worm, that seemed to be made out of avacado and honey among other things, that was absolutely wonderful. supposedly from some place in india (the recipe that is) or south east asia. haven't the slightest idea what it was called either.
then another maybe not at all off putting but a bit uncommon, is pumpkin swirl cheesecake.

I can't stand that stuff.
I had sheep brains the first time I was in Iraq. The taste was actually not bad, but the texture was horrible and I'm not one who is usually bothered by texture.
