I just watch The air i breathe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Air_I_Breathe) and was much inpressed with Brendan Fraser actting. He put in a solid proformance that would have won rewards in s bigger movie, so i was wondering people what actir/ess has surprise you with how good they are and in what movie?

Not sure if I was suprised, particularily, but in hind site perhaps it should have been suprising that a movie like Pirates of the Carribean, based on an amusement park ride, no less, would score two such skilled actors as Johney Depp and Geofory Rush. One of the best things about the whole series was watching those two play off eachother. Their characters were excellent dramatic and comedic foils for eachother, and they played it brilliantly.

Mark Hamil in Batman: The Animated series...i only recently found out it was him doing Voice acting...He was THAT good, Id say it was the definitive joker voice...

Although, definitive joker has to go to Heath Ledger, r.i.p...

Heath Ledger in Dark Knight.

I attribute that to you feeling guilty for causing his death. Stuffing a cocktail of drugs down some ones throat never does anybody any good!

Oh I dunno, I felt pretty cool after finishing off every colour in my medicine cabinet.

He did it to himself, I'm afraid.

But I seriously didn't expect anything out of any Batman movie since the old ones. I didn't even see Batman Begins until a short time before the release of Dark Knight and I figured all the hype was just hype. But all the main actors in it were good, Ledger's role was weird but he pulled it off. Also, at least he'll be remembered as the joker, not a a gay cowboy (not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Along those lines, I was impressed with him in The Quiet American. Before that, I'd only known about him in films like The Mummy, etc.

Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight

I was surprised no hype went to his performance as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, which I thought stood out as much as Heath Legder's did.
Maybe if he kills himself he'll get the respect he deserves...
eitherway, I'm hoping the next Batman movie directed by Chris Nolan will feature him as the main villain

He didn't die at the end of the Dark Knight?

He was great in Thank You For Smoking, too. Good actor all around, if you ask me.

Its implied that he did, but they never directly state it...

I thought he was good too, and id like to see him in the next one...However Nolan said that as far as his script is concerned Two-Face died...

So, My next hope is Johnny Depp as the Riddler, it should be perfect...

Possibly Talia al Ghul as a villian/anti-hero as well, and a new Love interest for batman...

I think itd come together nicely...

That movie didn't have weak actors, so if you're going to list only one, might as well go for the one that died.

The entire cast of Dark Knight, even the supporting cast was one of the best I ever had the pleasure of watching (over and over and over).
I always thought Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson were always some of the best actors in the business, even in bad movies. The Spirit would have been much worse without Mister Jackson's amazing portrayel of the utterly psychotic Octopus.
