Why do some famous people have plastic surgery that just makes them look worse? Is someone telling them they look better for it?

for every meg ryan there are a dozen great outcomes. done well it extends an actors working life by decades.

Turning to professional boxing at the peak of his popularity probably didn't do him any favors either, not to mention the thousands of blows he took to the face.

You're right about that. People today, esp. women get plastic surgery like it was clothes shopping, even more esp. celebrities. In the vast majority of times, it has nothing to do with age or extending actors' working life anyways. So these silly horror stories don't really mean anything. Lips and face lifts? Ridiculous. By far the thing done most often is rhinoplasty, and unless a quack did it, it won't look weird. Tons of celebrities get this one, esp female. Second are breast implants, which they say these days are also done better. Who knows, who cares. If you're going to condemn it might as well include shaving and combing your hair. The only difference is the risk and cost, because yes, plastic surgery is pretty much a waste of money and a risk for most people.
