When can we start feeling old?

So I was reading the age thread, and I was wondering when it's allowable to start feeling old. For instance, I have been feeling old for about a year and a half now, and I'm almost 24. I started feeling old at about 22.
So, generalites, do you feel old at your age?
Yes, there will be a poll. It wouldn't be a Galloism thread if there wasn't a poll.
I won't feel old until I am one year older than my current age. Meaning, no matter how old I get I will refuse to feel old. If I am 97 then old is 98, if I am 110 than 111 is old.
I admit that after some days with my students, I am left feeling very old, but that's just the normal side effect of teaching elementary school. :p
I'm 30 and I honestly don't feel old. I don't think I ever really will until I actually reach the end of my lifespan, whatever that may be.

The first time I started to feel old was the occasion of my five-year high school reunion.
It was reinforced a couple of years later when I reached the point where (I'm an assistant high school marching band instructor) I'd been involved in marching band and drum corps longer than some of my kids have been alive.

I still enjoy insulting people with awful taste in car accessories. There's this Dodge Intrepid near where I live with a fartcan muffler, a giant rear wing, mismatched wheels, and a huge windshield decal that reads "Intrepid".
The worst part is, I finally saw the driver of this thing, and I'm pretty sure he's older than I am. :(

What the f is with those giant windshield decals anyway? Who cares if your windshield says the painfully obvious car name you're driving (I mean, come on, its already on the back of the car!)? At least get a cool decal. Geez.

I sometimes say I feel old, but then I take a look at my grandfather and know that it ain't true. He's lived a much harder, rougher life than I and payed his dues to the world, raised a family who each raised there own who now are starting it all again. I look at my dad, who near retirement and now a grandfather says he feel old. He's worried he won't be able to do all those things he put on hold to raise the three of us kids. Worried that he may have missed his chance. But then I tell him he can't feel old, we've still got mountains to climb. So, no I don't feel old. I hope that I'm to busy living life to get the opportunity to feel old.

They're friggin' everywhere in my town, and the people with them drive like assholes too.
I complain about feeling old, but I don't really most of the time. Working with small children makes me feel simultaneously young and old (I had a total generation-gap moment the other day in class when we were thinking of words that started with "s" and I said, "Popeye eats it get strong!" and was met with 20 blinking, bewildered faces >_<). Health problems make me feel older; I had back surgery at 18 and my back's been bothering me again lately, so that definitely makes me feel older.
For the record, I'm 25 (almost 26... ugh, now I do feel old).
I've got that combination of cynicism and optimism that keeps me from being completely naive or completely burned out. I never feel old or young, just there and slightly bemused by strangeness at all ages.

I think feeling old is a state of mind. However your body does give you clues that you are aging. Things hurt that never hurt before. For example I had to cut back on outdoor activities because of my knees. I also have about half of normal hearing in my right ear and probably going to need glasses within 10 years.

Well nowadays I wear contacts for the majority of the time. Its just easier to wear things like sunglasses, and such. But I do have a pair of those thick black framed glasses that make me look artsier and more intellectual. Contacts are really easy, but I mean, if you have a phobia of eyes, like a friend of mine does, then it would make putting them in pretty difficult...

I dunno, depends on my mood. I think I normally feel old if I'm alone for too long. I start getting too retrospective and stuff. However, if I'm around a people I tend not to feel old. At university I hardly ever feel old (except when I'm depressed for some reason). And at university I'm older than pretty much everyone I know -- something I occasionally will get teased about. But then I know I'm young because all the silly things I end up doing. Like walking round campus with suit and a balaclava with evil stitched on it; or chasing a friend around the computer labs, leaping from table to table as I go; or something as stupid as finding the letters A,B,C and D printed in font size 1,000,000, each on separate sheets of A4 and then getting two friends to help me hold up C,B and A when we start getting sent to sleep by the lecturer. Showing up drunk for lecturers and tutorials is always intriguing too -- in fact that should be mandatory. It'd make the students less inhibited and more likely to engage in the tutorial... so long as they aren't completely inebriated. Oooh, there was also that SU stunt when we ran around campus dressed up as sperm and eggs or something to raise awareness of STDs.

I consider myself young, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy kvetching about how great things used to be. Remember the Cretaceous period? That was a great time, before any of this fancy-shmancy "electronics," or "Inter-nets," or "sentience." The KT event just screwed up everything.

Yes, there will be a poll. It wouldn't be a Galloism thread if there wasn't a poll.
When songs that you think of as contemporary appear on classic rock stations.
When high schools students are studying, in history class, stuff that you think happened "just a couple of years ago."
When discussing politics you make reference to something that happened under the president before the one you were already talking about and the other person says "I was in junior high then."
Men, your pants cover your navel.
Women, your panties sit on your waist instead of your hips.
You can't tell the difference between high-school seniors and college juniors.
There are many other points that tell you to feel old. None of them are your age.

But at 14 you can't really judge were it all went because it hasn't gone anywhere, you can't judge your experiences because they are minimal.

My body sometimes feels old, but it's really not that much difference from when I was younger since I was never very athletic. My mind doesn't feel old at all. So I guess I feel young and old at the same time. Mentally I felt like I was in my 40s by the time I was 21, but only intellectually (or jadedness), otherwise I still feel young (or inexperienced).

So, generalites, do you feel old at your age?
About a year ago, I could of answered with a definite No!, but now I don't know and decided in the end that it didn't matter in the end. What changed a year ago that brought on that confusion, you ask.
Well, about a year ago the oldies station I listen to on the radio starting playing 80's music along with their already 60's and 70's. As, I was born in the 1980's I thought this a little odd, because by their logic of playing and considering music from the 1980's oldies, they inferred that anyone born in that decade had now defacto become an Old Timer.
And that my friends was the day I become old instead of young. I guess, I should feel so lucky, how many people can say that can name the exact day they went from being young to old.
So, do I feel old, I guess in a way I do considering everything I have seen and done after over two decades of living. However, with that said at the same time I still feel young at heart and to me that is more important then anything else.

I'm 18 and think that anyone that says that they are old before they reach their 40s probably really likes complaining. No offense to anyone, but somewhere around 40s or 50s is when someone starts to get old in my opinion. Some people take more or less time than that to start acting old. And some people never do start acting old, I might be one of those if I can help it.
I have so much ahead of me and so many decisions I have to make soon I still feel very young.
