A message from The Edukators (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0408777/). Nice!

Agreed, awesome stunt. Illegal, but an a nice poke at Madoff's conscience.

I wonder if the perpetrators had heard of Garden Gnome Liberation. It's kinda like that, but with a serious message.

not getting caught YET.

lots of "criminals" get caught by bragging about their crimes to the wrong person.

who could blame them for being so stupid as to brag about this awesome crime?

I'm pretty sure that, if they do get caught, lots of people will help pay for their defense, and send them stuff and so on.

Besides... It's just too awesome for even getting caught to undo the sheer awesomeness.

So if the statue-kidnappers are caught and put on trial, let's hope the judge takes the majority view of NSG, and gives them a big plate of cookies instead of a jail term. :p

Perhaps if they could demonstrate that their intention always was to return the statue after a time, the charge of larceny wouldn't stick. Mischief with someone else's property perhaps, but surely depriving Madoff of the use of his statue for one week is less blameworthy than attempting to deprive him of the use of his statue permanently ...

Unfortunately, judges are meant to apply the law.

Not to say the judge couldn't do so leniently.

Gerbodia punishes its criminals ruthlessly! But... we'll have to think of a different word to describe these guys who are quite obviously better than criminals. Mind, don't all vigilantes break the law?

That's some nice mischief, but it reminds me: what ever happened to that piano someone left out in the woods? Did anyone ever figure that out? I'm guessing we'll never find out who did this, or who did that, and that makes these kind of stories frustrating.

Hmm what did happen to that piano in the woods....to Google!

Apparently it's in storage. (http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/11/23/massachusetts.piano/)

I'm sure it is. What I *meant* was, what happened with the investigation? The location of the evidence is less interesting.

Are you referring to yourself in the third person, or do you think this is some sort of NationStates roleplay?

Either one is absolutely adorable.

*turns to NSG* Can I keep him?

No, because who ends up walking these things at 5 in the morning out in the freezing cold while it's snowing and sleeting! ME, that's who!

What would have been better if someone was able to empty all his bank accounts and leave him broke. Leave a note with a simple "You are broke bitch".

Not bad but it would have been better if it was a lot more than $10,000
