I just found out 15 minutes ago that I'll be hosting my friends this year. :)

Prepare for all the worlds computers to crash, and hide in my basement.

Spend it at home with only a few close relatives. Probably a good idea, but boring nonetheless. ,)

I dunno, me and some friends are planning to hit the city (good old Boston) But if that fails, I'll be stuck with my family again.

Well, I'm going to my friends house tonight. We are gonna get bombed. Yay!

I'm staying in this year. For a few reasons:

1. I feel a bit ill.

2. All my home friends are out of town.

3. All of my uni friends are either back at uni or still in their various homes.

4. I'm at my parents.

5. I have very little money.

Not the best New Year really but such is life.

yup, lots of them. more than at halloween, but maybe not quite as many as on Guy Fawkes' Day

the city usually does a show, and people do their own. our house is almost at the top of a big hill in the middle of the city, so we get great views from here :D

Going to a party at my friends flat. Much alcohol, plus a lovely view over the city so we get to see all the fireworks :)

This year I spend some extra cash (€ 5,98) on two aluminum tubes to serve as launch sites. I already planted them in the back yard and test-fired a rocket off each. They work great.

Now, if the rockets deliver what their box has promised, I'm all set for welcoming 2009!!!

Picking my daughter up at the airport. Going out to dinner.

All night party at a friend's place.

Spending it at my in-laws for a Japanese New Year's night, which means eating soba (buckwheat noodles) watching Red vs. White singing contest on NHK and then listening to the bells go off at midnight. We may, or may not, go to a temple or shrine at midnight, depends on the weather, my son, and my father-in-law.

We WILL have lots of wine though. ;)

I'll be watching a ballet at La Scala with some friends, then move to my parent's house and toast the new year. Nothing weird, not very much alcohol (I've got to drive, public transportation goes tilt every new year's eve at about h2230 :( )

Working...dealing with drunken people like yourselves. Laying down the law, being "the man".

Essentially, my least favorite night of the year...good thing it's out of the way early.

so right you are. i miss a lot with dial up. would take me all night to read every post in every thread before i replied to it. not what i would have liked to have spent the night doing.

the trailer park troubadores had their pine view hights set up over at the grass valley fair grounds. would have liked to have been there.

that's one thing. i'm mostly happy with what i did. which wasn't really much.

What I got up to NYE.

A friend was hosting a party at his parents house (well his parents were hosting it but yeah). So I rocked up there leaving a party at my house (that my room mates were hosting) after a few beers and a few shots of Bacardi 151. I ate a BBQ swam in the pool for a couple of hours, till a cut my foot up :(. But then being bandaged up I started drinking more beer, and wine. A friend came over with three bottles (750ml) of Mojito's that he had made the day before, I think I drunk a bottle myself. I then stayed the night, however, I had to throw up, and spent the hours of 5:00am to 10:00am lying on the tiles of the bathroom, hurling my guts up every 15 mins or so. It is early morning I am wearing nothing but my board shorts and the tiles are cold a draft is coming under the door I am shivering and I feel like shit.

When I was finally able to sit up right his mum, offered me a warm shower before I headed back to the party area where his father was cooking up bacon and eggs and pancakes and plenty of fresh fruit. I wouldn't have minded a late morning swim but as my foot was still bandaged up I had to sit back and try and get some sleep.

Since winter quarter starts this Monday and I'm not turning 21 until February, I decided to just kick it at home...I need that money.

lol, but really I did what we did on the 4th of July, me and about eleven friends got a shitload of fireworks and shot em at eachother in a massive firefight, lol....
