The Monster in the Attic...

Yeah, so a man lives in this Pennsylvania Family's attic for several days, and they didn't even notice.

I always find these kind of news rather odd.
People that live in basements, attics, closets, etc,
but are never noticed...and we are talking about years here sometimes.
Very strange.

Given the information available, the thief simply moved into the attic from the neighboring duplex via a shared access point once his friends decided to kick him out. It's not that hard to avoid detection once you've established yourself in a residence, in a place rarely frequented by the tenants.

Detection avoidance is something I learned at an early age. It is very possible to walk across someone's line of sight, as well as right up behind them, without registering your presence on their consciousness.

the guy seems just a tad crazy.
I can remember a story from Japan where a guy had a woman living in his closet (I think) for months without him noticing.

Didn't something like this happen in Japan not too long ago? I seem to recall that in that case it was a woman living inside the closet of a residence.

Yeah, just a tad. Gosh, I wonder why his friends (the neighbors) kicked him out in the first place. Could it have been his penchant for stealing their stuff and wearing their underwear?
Stories like this are so weird and so creepy. It makes me support that fung shui rule that says you should have no unused "dead" spaces in your home because negative stuff can accumulate in them. Case in point.

Case in point, 20 somethings that are messed up in the head who live in your attic.

Seriously. I don't want any crazy men in my attic, unless I'm the one who stuck them up there.

He could have. Now, if he had also been found wearing foam antlers and something tinsely, I'd suspect pet-treatment.

Police said the 21-year-old Carter had been staying with his friends, who are Ferrance's neighbors in a duplex. But when they told him to leave, he apparently accessed the shared attic through a trap door in a bedroom ceiling.
The friends said Carter went missing on Dec. 19 and they filed a missing person report a few days before Christmas.
so they asked him to leave... then when he does they file a missing person report?!?
