So bush pardons the conviction of a dead guy who, in 1949, sold bombers to isreal?

this was before they were allies, and it was illegal to sale weapons to the middle east.

sorry, but hero my ass. You don't get to be a hero by helping people force other people off their land.

let the 5,000,000,000th(give or ake a few) isreal debate begin :D

I'll stick with Stanislav Petrov (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanislav_Petrov) as my unsung hero, but thanks anyway.

Actually, technically... he didn't sell them weapons.
two converted B-17 "Flying Fortresses" to Israel's defense forces in 1949...

Winters had personally flown one of the aircraft from Miami to Czechoslovakia, where it was retrofitted for use as a bomber in the Arab-Israeli War. sounds like he sold them converted army surplus which was then retrofitted into a weapon after the sale. ;)

I hope he also pardons Jack Johnson. talk about a man who literally fought against racisim.

"Johnson died in a car crash near Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1946, after racing angrily from a diner that refused to serve him"

Coolest. Death. Evah.
