Life's simple pleasures

A friend of mine got the hiccups last night and I spent the next fifteen or twenty minutes tormenting him by making him laugh while he was trying to hold his breath.

It's the simple pleasures that makes life worth living, don't you think? :D

I agree with you, LG.

To me, listening to the songs of the cartoons that made up my childhood is a simple pleasure. I am, actually, doing just that right now.

I agree, and of course the more complex pleasures, fuck it, may as well say all of the pleasures, I like them all.

I love drawing and alternate history. Here's a recent work in progress that's a combination of both:

It may never amount to anything bigger, hence I class it as a simple pleasure.

A daydream about more shoes being thrown at dubya. Only this time, the thrower(s) actually put points into the "Able to hit broad side of barn" skill.

...that, and random video game references.

Simple pleasures are great. Something as simple as just sitting around having a laugh with friends of listening to a piece of music you really enjoy.

Frankly, I don't believe they're lawyers. I can actually understand what they say! :D

That must've been one sided. :p

As for me, just being out strolling in the woods at night under a clear sky with the moon out. :)

My last summons for jury duty assured me that lawyers use "common, everyday language" that "everyone can understand." Lack of English proficiency isn't enough to exempt you (read: about 30% of the state) from jury duty in California, in other words - comforting, no?

On topic: peanut brittle! Gets old quick, but those first few bits are nice.

I love the way it feels when a cold wind slices down my nerves and chills my bones. It makes me feel so alive and aware of myself. Jumping into icy cold water is similar.

Maybe he just failed his shoe throwing roll, and Dubya made his dodge roll.

He should of added some combat pool dice.

my simple pleasures involve trains, being a magnet for little furry creatures, and the most gratifying of all, sitting here in front of this thing. no, i don't mean nation states especially, nor even neccessarilly online with the internet, but just being able to have a computer and use it creatively.

to anyone under 20 its probably unimaginable why that should be any big deal, its just that for me, at the time i was born, well, i was over 30 when the first 8-bit comodors, and trasher 80s were in stores where you could actually just go and buy them and take them home and they actually worked. i was well into my 20s when the chips first became available in quantity one, and the kits, but you still couldn't get power supply components that delivered the neccessary regulated voltages for love nor money, not untill after fully assembled machines became available and had been for four or five years.

of course i grew up going for long walks by myself in the woods. lived pretty rural for that matter. along side the railroad in very small towns and villages well away from any major populations centers, but along the corridors between them.

i guess my simplest pleasure is just when i get the chance to be alone to meditate.

i really don't find gratification in annoying anyone, and the price of having to be arround anyone, i've always found to be greater then the compensations that has to offer.

there was a thread about underrated. well human companionship, i've all but invariably found to be over rated, often extremely so.

Good looking young men. Even more of a pleasure -- when the good-looking young man flirts with you (even though you know he's just trying to sell you something, it's still a pleasure).

I don't know if I count as good looking but I am a consummate flirt when I'm in the mood.
