Most dumb shop on the planet.

For me it's IKEA.

They sell crappy cheap furniture you have to assemble by yourself.

IKEA gives you the impression that their products are rather good, which it isn't, it is really crap.

I hate the whole IKEA atmosphere in the shop and I don't like their customers as well. Ever tried the food in the IKEA restaurant? Swedish meatballs should be warm, not frozen!

So what's your shop you hate?

I like IKEA. The stuff I got from them years ago (decades, even) is still standing strong, despite me having moved more times than I care to remember.
The idea to make furniture you can take apart and put together again as many times as you need it brilliant. And those shelves I got are better than anything other shops would have me pay hundreds of Euros for.

A shop where I don't want to be, and one where there is wall-to-wall people. So, that's anywhere that doesn't sell manga/anime, video games or computer hardware.

I don't hate, and if I would, I'm pretty sure shops wouldn't make my top ten of hateworthiness.
But I do dislike having to go to most shops, which is why I buy anything I possibly can via internet. Although this too can make for a fair amount of frustration...

I don't have a problem with Ikea. My desk is about 3 years old, and it's holding up fine. At the same time, I also bought some lights at Ikea (stick on LED lights that I placed on the underside of my desk's top shelf), and they still work fine.

I have a problem with Target. Of course, that's because I worked there for one hellish year, more than anything else.

I also hate clothes shopping in all its forms. I had settled on a size for a few years and buying clothes over the internet, but I'm shrinking now and that makes it a little harder, so I'm going to have to go into a brick and mortar sooner or later to figure out what fits again. I dread this step.

ikea rocks. its cheap, most of the stuff we have from there has lasted decades (and all the office stuff here is from ikea and is still going strong after at least 5 years)... and the meatballs with lingonberry jam are lovely!

the stupedest shop i know of is actually just down the road from here. it has mismatched curtains and drapes covering most of the windows, and it sells sweets, though you wouldn't know it from the outside... it lacks a sign of any kind. inside, they take cash only, and its staffed by a young couple who seem to like dressing up in victorian outfits and handing out old-fashioned sweets on the street to anyone who passes. seriously, its fucking bizzare :headbang:

It's not all crappy, they have both crappy and good stuff. IKEA sells quite a bit of good furniture. And it also doesn't cost thousands. As for assembling, I'm male.

I quite like many of their lightweight, steel-framed items. I don't like the humongous mountains of wood, leather and cloth that should be installed with a crane, or built right into the house. On the contrary, I like furniture that I can effortlessly move around, that doesn't dominate the space, and is as simple and plain as possible. Clean look.

It's pretty hard to find, and IKEA accounts for quite a proportion of it. Not all. But a lot.

What....it's the dog collars....

As for me, I'd have to hate K-Mart, ever K-Mart I've been to seem to be poorly kept, and the people in these stores seem to don't really care to be there. I also experienced this in Dollar General, The Dollar Store, Family Dollar. You know, the smaller, less successful Wal-Mart knock offs.

I worked at K-Mart for a few months. Biggest piece of shit ever. Unemployment was preferable to working there, and that's saying a lot for someone who belies his anglo-saxon heritage by being a tight-ass.

I'm gonna have to go with Dangerfield too. By the sounds of it, it's a lot like your Hot Topic. Just too try hard, and missing the point completely.

Most clothing stores too. I desperately need new shirts, but for some reason, paying $35 for a good t-shirt rankles with me, so I don't bother, and just wear my same old ratty stuff that I've owned since I was 14.

I dislike Ikea for a few reasons, one of them being that it sells cheap crappy furniture and it brought the way its European customer service style into Australia.

I haven't shopped at Wal-Mart and never intend to, I had to do research on the company, its practices and generally how it operates and I was disgusted and hated the idea so I hope it never comes into Australia.

I dislike EB games, they sell games at high prices but act as if they are giving you a deal and the so called 'specials' aren't specials at all.

Most clothing stores too. I desperately need new shirts, but for some reason, paying $35 for a good t-shirt rankles with me, so I don't bother, and just wear my same old ratty stuff that I've owned since I was 14.

I've just recently started shopping online I to got sick of buying t-shirts for $35 or even $50 for something like Mossimo or Calvin Klien and going online you can get it much cheaper. Just need to know your size.

Last night I brought a new Mossimo t-shirt usually $50 at Myer got it for $12.

I don't have a problem with Ross' merchandise. Generally it's reasonably good quality, it's just a few months out of style, and it is quite affordable. My problem is with their customers - these people are trashy and inconsiderate. They pull things off the rack and throw them on the floor if it's not what they want or it's the wrong size or, instead of putting things back where they belong, they just jam them any where so you find size 24 women's in with the size 2 petites. It's as if shopping in a store with deep discounts gives them the right to behave like children.

I've never been to T.J. Max and Marshalls, so I can't comment on them.
