So, will we see Global Warming reducing now?

To all you Pastafarians out there....
Given the recent increase in pirate activity, albeit off the coast of Africa rather than in the Caribean, do you think this will have reducing effect on Global Warming?
After all, it has been shown that the decline in piracy was directly linked to the increase in Global Warming :

I think it might be interesting to observe how the climate will evolve now.
With any luck we might get back to early 90s levels. It's not much, but it's a start.

There may be increased snowfall off the horn of Africa, as it's really a localized phenomenon.

Should piracy be a pardonable offence, you think, given the possibly beneficial effects it may have on the climate?
Should pirates get tax credits the way churches do, for example? ;)

I think it will, but really the Global Warming will only be stopped when the barrier between the Interweb and reality finally dissolves, and all the network piracy floods the mundane realm.

Would you say internet piracy has made the web a pretty cool place, then?

Hmm... how could we globalise piracy? We might need to ask Bush and his cronies, I'm sure they'd have some helpful ideas.

At the very least we should have pirate outfits and equipment VAT free. Maybe even provide government grants for those planning to build/buy a pirate vessel.

Which explains why so many people on the internet doubt the existence of global warming, the internet is so full of pirates that it isn't feeling the effects.

The Lesser Ice Age ended the same year Washington and his troops were at Valley Forge-given the rate at which Ice Ages come and go, I'd think a bit of global warming is still due before the next cooldown.
I think it's more likely the warming affects piracy than vice versa-piracy is largely a waiting game, and who wants to lay out in hot weather?

The world has been cooling for the past decade. Regardless, the planet heats and cools in cycles, and has since it was first formed. Man really has no say in it, just hold on and enjoy the ride.

Unfortunately, the approximation of 17 pirates in the year 2000 suggests much narrower criteria than simply crimes on the high seas. Piracy has consistently been a problem in many shipping lanes, such as the Straits of Malacca. So the destabilization of Somalia and the subsequent increase in "pirate" activity off the east coast of Africa will likely fail to slow or reverse global warming. What we require is a Pirate Corps equipped with eye patches, swords, and buried treasure.

Pirates have eyepatches, a parrot, a wooden leg and say "Arrrrrr" alot.
That the pirate brand has been diluted by the nefarious and insidious tendency of the media to use the word for e.g. people stealing oiltankers or children downloading songs from the internet is sad.

The pirate chart is a pretty weak analogy for comparison to greenhouse gases. The pirate chart's inconsistent scale in the x-axis aside, the latter is based on science and the former isn't.
