Well, I wouldn't have minded so bad, but, ya' know, he just kinda' stopped, then blew up.
I'm not seeing him again, and he's certainly not getting any of my money!

Right.
Anything else you might want to add?

I couldn't find a "This thread makes none" so I went with this.

Actually, I was talking about Eve Online, an MMORPG.
And I didn't have a lot of stuff, anyway. I had played the game for like two days. It was suffering serious lag, something on the order of five to ten seconds network lag at a time. Since the client kept locking up during the lag, I wouldn't know what was happening until the server finally blessed me with an update.
I left a space station. Lag hit. Client froze. Thirty seconds later, client unfroze. I was dead.
Sound like the Sierra games of yor to you? Does to me. And I never liked those, either.
I'm sticking to World of Warcraft and Second Life. Not that Second Life is a game, mind you, just a great place to go and visit people and do all kinds of neat stuff you can't do in real life.

Ah. I thought you were talking about Eve Online, the poster who was active here a while back.

I actually enjoyed playing Eve Online for a number of months, but there came a point where I honestly yearned for a change of scenery. After making the jump to World of Warcraft, I haven't really had time to look back.
Hopefully "Walking in Stations" provides the incentive for me to come back.
EVE Online isn't a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. It has a steep learning curve, but the players and moderators are extremely friendly, the sense of scale is wonderful and I have to applaud a company that can continue churning out sizable improvements to their game while operating in the shadow of WoW.

.
If you were anywhere were you could be killed(with out police blowing them up) lag should not be an issue unless your computer or internet connection sucks.
next question as a 2 day old character what did you expect in the lawless areas of space?
I never played it.
Also, I too thought this was going to be about the poster.

A lot of WoW whiners can't understand this part of the game - the idea that you can be killed and lose your stuff at any time.
It's what makes the game exciting.

Spoken like a dyed in the wool ganker.
EVE isn't for everyone. You want a quick fix, or a game where you can feel safe, try WoW (which I have tried, and found to be quite enjoyable).
