Putting Dubya- a certifiably incompetent business manager with a body count of companies to prove it- on the Blackwater board? That would be poetic justice.

He won't need to pardon them. They will either get immunity or the indictment will be dismissed. Either result would be correct, given that they are government contractors. They were acting in an official capacity.

Sadly, there would be nothing poetic about an ex-president using his continuing access to classified national security information to aid the mercenary firm of a psychopathic Jesus freak, in exchange for being paid disgusting sums of money to play golf.

Yes, but every private business Dubya has ever been put in charge of eventually filed for bankruptcy. That's the point I was making.

Why not put him in charge of Blackwater? They profitted off his incompetence and now they should find out what it's like for everyone else.

because they want profit. though if they declare bankruptcy before any civil matters are brought it would be a good way to avoid paying them.

Soldiers have been court-martialled for things not nearly as bad as what Blackwater has done. Perversely, the mercenaries are protected by their very extra-legality. It's about time they were held accountable.

I hope they're convicted.

I hate the idea that we're using mercenaries to begin with.

You've got some screwed up malls if your security guards are illegally shipping automatic weapons into war zones and shooting up crowds of civilians.
