Its December now, and Obama has picked over half of his Cabinet...

It is well and truly over.

But does anyone else miss the excitement and tension of the election? I sure do...

The US election determines who will be the Commander In Chief of a military (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_the_United_States) of 1,436,642 active personnel and 1,458,500 reserve. The World Cup determines who gets to put a trophy in their case for a few years (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIFA_World_Cup#Trophy).

No, the Football war doesn't count, only idiots and people ignorant of history think that was the cause. It was caused by political tension, especially over immigration issues.
But then, given your unashamed anti-intellectualism, I suppose anything complex like that is something you'd rather not think about, eh?

Yeah, pretty much. Do you have any idea how much money flows through football? How many people follow it? FIFA has more member states than the UN. I'd say that's pretty damn important.

So a lot of people watch it? So what?
1) Argumentum ad populum. Just because something is popular does not make it good/important. A lot of people watch American Idol, but it's utterly unimportant who wins that.
2) Sports don't decide a country's policy for the next several years. Elections do.

Who cares what the US policies are? All your country is good for is invading small countries and breaking the world economy. As opposed to football, which bring people together and bolsters economies.

International football certainly has a lot of followers, and thus generates a lot of money for various people, but seriously, 3 million soldiers and 5000 nukes. Some nuts might have killed themselves over the World Cup, but that's probably enough to kill the whole world.

Breaking the world economy soundss vastly more important than a few pounds of gold that you don't even get to keep. International footballs teams deal in millions, domestic teams in billions, maybe, the world economy; trillions. Simple maths makes the fate of the world economy orders of magnitude more important that football.

And invading countries tends to lead to people dying. Often many thousands of them.

Who cares what the US policies are? All your country is good for is invading small countries and breaking the world economy. As opposed to football, which bring people together and bolsters economies.

Like I said. Anti-Intellectualism and a lack of understanding of actual international politics. And you come so close to the issue, but it goes right over your head.
If the US can break the world economy and invade countries, then it matters who we have as president; we need to have somebody who won't do that.

Oh, and you contradict yourself. First you claim football causes wars (and then can only name one that it didn't really.), then you claim it brings people together.

Not that you care about reason, intelligence, or any such thing. You go with your gut, and once you latch onto an idea, never change your mind.
