*Not sure we've ever done this, but what the hey*

As anyone who has ever watched anime knows, there's a certain genre in it lovingly referred to as harem anime where a young man (usually of the, ah, not-so-interesting-to-girls type) somehow manages to get into a situation where everything with two X chromosomes within a mile radius suddenly becomes absolutely infatuated with him. Usually of course said guy cannot, or will not, choose one girl for various reasons and, as the ancient sages say, much hilarity results.

So let's say that due to some freakish warp of space and time involving too many posts on NSG, tacos, and Myrth, you find yourself in such a situation, so whom would you want in your harem and why (Oh, and ladies, feel free to create your own male harem of boy toys for your amusement).

How about a reverse harem? You know, 2-D Guys for the female fans? Still I prefer my men in a tangible format and handsome. Some of the time in anime/ manga, for them to be into each other (I'm a yaoi fan).

Soubi: Sexy, cool, collected, and great with words. Problem: despite being called "Beloved," he's a bit apathetic, except with Ritsuka.

Muraki: Sexy, wicked, sweet talker, and very intelligent. Problem: He's a murderous man who only wants to cause pain to Tsuzuki and play with people's emotions.

Prince Diamond: Those cold eyes, his strong will, and confident attitude. Problem: He's a worshipper of a man who seeks to destroy the future and only wishes to be with Neo Queen Serenity (and the other several identities of Sailor Moon).

I'm starting to notice a couple of themes here... All silver- haired and want to be with someone else. ^^" So let's change it up a little bit:

Chichiri: Cheerful, perky, and protective. Problem: He's still likely repenting for something he did in the distant past and is likely living with Tai-Itskun.

The problem for me is that the type of woman I'd like to be with (and so would probably want in my harem), is the type of woman who wouldn't agree to be in a harem.

Also, with Japan being so generally male-chauvinistic, it would be rather difficult to find any real feminist anime women (then again, it's entirely too possible that it's just the specific genres I usually watch).

This question really made me think, and for a long time. I was tempted of simply posting an image of the Azumanga crew (with a black square covering Chiyo), but that was probably not what was in mind for this topic.

Go for movies. That way, if you don't like it, you'll only waste an hour and a half as opposed to several hours on it.

I agree with DrunkenDove that Spirited Away or something else by Miyazaki is a good idea to begin with. I also like Ghost in the Shell (only the first movie).

I adore Porco Rosso. Probably one of the few films I can watch without much of a gap between viewings. I'd be more than happy to watch it a couple of days after last watching. I love the attention to detail in all Studio Ghibli films, and Porco Rosso typifies it in my mind, especially when the Air Pirates raid Porco's hideout and they're all armed with weapons from the period.

Claro que me gusta! Me gusta mucho!, pero tengo mucho tiempo que no veo. Antes me los veía completos. Ya el trabajo no me deja tanto tiempo libre. Estoy súper desactualizada en el mundillo del Manga y el animé. Casi todos mis personajes y series favoritas son "clásicos" ahora.

Bah, why would one need an anime harem. Get a real harem. I, and plenty of single males that I consider friends, have *harems*, though today we call it 'the Booty Call.'

Besides, those Japanese anime chicks rarely reflect true beauty in the female form.
