Okay. So this is based off an assignment I had in college.
Look at a tortoise...on the top, the have a dark, rocky-looking shell that is often rough. On the bottom, a shell that is light colors and smooth.
Apply this to a quote, symbol, or anything else you want. First, look at it from the standard point of view...then, flip it over and look at it a completely different way.
Mine: The quote "This too shall pass".
Top side: Life will move on. Your suffering will end, and you will progress to a new segment of life with new knowledge and understanding. Life will get better.
Bottom side: Your happiness is not permanent. At some point, this happiness will end. You will meet sadness. Life will continue, and cannot be eternal happiness.
Overall impact: life is short. It moves on, with or without you. You will need to move with it, or risk being left behind.
