What nations do you find interesting, and would want to visit?

This is my list of nations to visit (not prioritized):
Japan
France
Norway
Saudi Arabia
China
Korea
Taiwan
Russia

For the last few years, I've grown somewhat tired of culture in the U.S., especially after living (and studying) for a year in the Philippines. So, has anyone else lived outside of their native country, excluding vacations and buisness trips?

Well...all countries are interesting, in terms of different cultures etc...honestly though there's no country I want to visit. If I was to have a holiday, I'd rather just have a break from work and lie around at home. Hotels aren't usually as nice as your own house, and I enjoy the food I can make at home more than anything fancy at a restaurant.

more or less what DI said but I'd rather do something interesting instead of sitting on my arse on some beach getting pissed like for example making two children fight each other for my money

I blame my mother for this and her stupid obsession with travel

There's no country in the world I wouldn't want to visit. I would dearly love to be able to afford to travel all over the world someday.

Heh, I'd still want to visit them at some point, but they're lower on the list. Basically, given the choice between visiting Zimbabwe or France, I'd go with France, but given the choice between visiting Zimbabwe or staying at home, take me to the crazy dictatorship. It may not be fun per se, but I have no doubt it'd be interesting. :p

Of the ones I have travelled to I'd definitely go back to Ireland, France (Corsica specifically) and Switzerland.

I'd love to check out a whole ton of other places so I'll go by general region rather than continent. South America, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Northern Europe, Africa.... pretty much the whole damn world I guess.

I'd really like to go to Russia. Iceland and Germany would be great too. I've been to France before and lived in England and I'd like to go back and visit both of them.

I've lived in Britain, France, Ireland and the U.S

I've knocked an awful lot of countries off my 'want to visit' list. Alaska is probably the place that has lasted longest without me getting round to going (although it's just a state ofc). I guess I'd also like to go to Antarctica but that's no no country neither. I've pretty much gone to every country I've wanted to.. should I be satisfied or depressed?

I think the UAE would be a neat place to visit, although everyone I mention that to points out that it would be hella-expensive.

I'm married to one of them (Russian girls, that is), and can vouch for your excellent taste.

And no, I didn't order her out of a catalogue; I met her in an Irish bar in Melbourne, Australia.

Travel sometimes does more than broaden the mind...

I was born in the USA and grew up in Beijing and Tokyo. My mom (and my dad as well, I believe) hold (illegally) dual American and Japanese citizenship, although they've both said that they'd give up their US Passports if the Japanese government actually cared or if US law didn't make it so damn difficult to extricate yourself from the country.

My grandparents and relatives fought both for and against the USA (those could have been some awkward reunions ^^), but they don't seem to care what citizenship we claim.

Alas, taxes.

For myself, it's more South America, I love those countries, they are full of hope in politics (for many of them), have very nice people, beautiful landscapes and nature, ... especially Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia and Cuba.

switzerland, japan, nepal, france, new zealand, canada, oz, gb, india, png, NORTHERN israel (baha'i pilgramige sites), parts of greece, particularly crete, north eastern india (darjeeling, and the dhr), mostly what intrests me are places with mountains and narrow gauge trains, also forrests and gardens. and i really much prefer temperate, even arctic climates to mediteranian ones, and while i'm interested in ancient sites, NOT pretentious "christian" ones (which arn't as ancient as what i mean by that anyway). probably some places in africa too. and maybe png.

there's a lot of other places i'd almost like to see, but only after major things politically that may or may not happen, have signifigantly chainged.

i don't think there's any place on the planet that doesn't need narrow gauge railways more then it needs automobiles, and that includes most places that are over run with cars already too.

i guess its part aesthetics, part passion, part a bunch of things.

idiological and economic prejudices and chauvanisms of ALL flavors are a major turn off for me, including those of where i live, but not limited to those either.
