Beavers Back In Britain
http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/europe/11/21/scottish.beavers/index.html
I didn't know you had an actual shortage of beaver, given the plethora of young women I saw walking around, but I guess it's true.
If it weren't for the initial order given by Colonel Angus in the 18th century to outfit his men with tall hats made from beaver... well, I guess we wouldn't have had all those desperate Englishmen trotting off to the Americas in search of free-range beaver...

Good job....
Fools...little do they realize that all those beavers are Canadian sleeper agents, everything is going according to plan...

I bet you can't say the name of the Op ten times fast!
Question:
How did the beavers return to the UK in the first place?
The Atlantic is a hell of a long swim for a beaver I'd imagine. Same goes with the English Channel and the North Sea.

No, doesn't prove anything. I could say Harare was very sweet and I ran from Bulawayo, but that doesn't mean I've been to Zimbabwe.

You want a proper itinerary of where he was and names and addresses of at least three different people he met in each location or something? :p
Anyways, I think it's a stupid idea to reintroduce beavers back into the UK, primarily because I imagine the environment has got on quite well without them in the last four hundred years, and putting the little buggers back in is going to cause more hassle than not introducing them again. I'd like to know some decent reasons for their reintroduction, rather than "because they were here four hundred years ago". Fuck it, if that's true, we ought to work out how to bring dinosaurs or mammoths back and have them running around, because they used to be in the British Isles.

Bah, bloody enviro people. Most of the animals we drove out were lost for a reason. Bird's of Pray, kill game birds. Wolf's, kill livestock. Beavers make good hats. But they will also disrupt the order of things if they start damming our streams again. There removal may have helped any other amount of species.

Beavers create wetlands that help absorb heavy rainfall and so prevent flooding.
