Did anyone watch this? If you did, what did you think?
I really wanted to change the station several times, but it was too compelling. Good acting, good writing and some unanswerable questions.

That looks so good... if nothing else, it looks like the type of thing that'll probably hit DVD after it airs, and I'll probably be able to get it on Amazon or something.

I believe this thread requires a reference to Ernie Chambers.

so what is the verdict on "god" allowing human depravity to continue unchecked?
if he refuses to intervene is he at fault?
You know you have fully descended into the world of legal geekery when you see a title called "god on trial" and think to yourself "man, serving process would be a BITCH"

They threw out Chambers' lawsuit on the grounds that jehovah could not be properly notified. Ironically, the christian churches implicitly endorsed jehovah's lack of omniscience by not condemning the judge's decision.

I didn't see any "unbelievable answers"-what I saw, was a group of humans justifying their atrocities by blaming them on the being that gave them the Free Will to commit these atrocities. By giving Free Will, God permitted these acts to occur, true-but doesn't a certain amount of responsibility fall on those who made these decisions?
As my grandmother told me, admittedly in light of much smaller offenses, "When you point the finger, remember four more are pointed at you."
God's fault was in giving us Free Will-what we've done with it is ours alone.
so what is the verdict on "god" allowing human depravity to continue unchecked?
if he refuses to intervene is he at fault?
I think its to show that our depravity is our fault for not going to him? He offered us a cure to this depravity, and we refuse to accept it, so he is like "Well, the offer is on the table, but I'm not going to force you to take this".

True! We were offered the chance to say no to prop 8, yet so many people refused the offer!

thats kinda what i was thinking
people did the holocaust. not god. god never promised to save us from ourselves. there are some things that we have to stop. we cant expect god to rescue us from our own evil.
except, as you say, to offer us a better way of living. but that is a choice not a magical solution.
