Hate Groups for Obama?

I realize the election is over, but it's still looming over people (at least, my students). A few weeks before the election a student of mine showed me an interesting article from a magazine written by a group that analyzes hate groups/hate crimes from a sociological and psychological standpoint (she's a social work major). Anyway, the article said that many hate groups, including the neo-Nazis and the KKK, supported Obama's bid for presidency.

I think it should be obvious to anyone that these people did not have a sudden change of heart and they don't agree with him on any sort of idelogical basis... They think that having Obama as president will stirr up racism in America and it will make their membership rates go up.

While I'd like think that people are not that fickle, I could actually see this happen. History shows that the general populace is nothing if not fickle and will do something very irrational anytime something significant happens.

In either case, do you all think that this could happen? Or did the KKK and the neo-Nazis just vote for an African-American to absolutely no avail?

Ready?

Set.

Wow...I wonder if Obama got word about the Neo-Nazi and KKK's endorsement, if I was him, I'd be laughing my ass off.

It's impossible not to get involved. I told myself the exact same thing, and I know I was kidding myself. I got involved.:(

Difference is... This is a really screwed up endorsement... It's not really an endorsement, either... It's more of an advertising scheme.

Here's hoping it'll fail for the Neo-Nazis and KKK idiots.

Because we saw how the world changed after 9/11, and because of Bush's policies...so now we are full of hope that the pendulum is swinging back towards sanity.

Don't count your eggs before they're in the basket, Obama isn't even in the White House yet.

Nothing drives up registration for the KKK and neo-Nazi groups like a black American presidency.

I'm not sure they support Barack Obama per se compared to the enormous increase in members.

EDIT: Oops, didn't really read the OP.

I think it's exactly that, I linked to a video interview with the head of the National Socialist party of America a couple of weeks ago and that's basically what he was saying.

Don't worry, this is like a relationship. When a relationship first form, there's the honey moon period, where everything is brand new and exciting, and you think nothing in the world can go wrong. But after awhile, the shine comes off the apple and everyone sees all the faults of the new President, and then they'll become critical of him.

I thought it'd actually go down. Because if the USA elected a black president, then the ideology of the KKK and Neo-Nazi would more likely seem to be dead in the water, or outdated, whatever. Right?

I remember reading (or was that watching) a long time ago, the Grand Dragon was attempting to change the KKK's image...

guess it's working.

else this is a statement to how far the Republicans went down when the KKK and Aryan nation would rather support Obama than McCain. :D

These unpeople are not just crazy, they're morons too. Do they think an Obama presidency will drive their registration rates up to such a point that it offsets the fact that it SHOWS A BLACK MAN CAN BE EQUAL ENOUGH TO BE PRESIDENT?
