The election is over. Here is an interesting collection of the best stuff bloggers uncovered about Obama:
Great Moments in Election-year blogging (http://jonswift.blogspot.com/2008/10/great-moments-in-election-year-blogging.html)

During Obama’s dark, mysterious years at Columbia, he was involved in domestic terrorist bombings
Obama didn’t actually write Dreams of My Father. In fact, it was ghost-written by none other than Bill Ayers!
Michelle Obama attacks “American white racists” in an interview with obscure online news site
Obama had a girlfriend that his wife found out about and forced her to move to the Caribbean.
There is a tape of Michelle Obama with Louis Farrakhan talking about “whitey”
Obama was not born in the United States and his birth certificate has been forged.
Barack Obama had an underage, gay “affair” with a pedophile
Obama had cocaine-fueled gay sex in the back of a limousine with a not-very-attractive disabled man with a criminal background
Obama was getting answers in the first debate through a clear plastic hearing aid in his ear

within a year everyone will be cursing Obama as much as they have every other elected official

See what happened to Krudd over in Australia? When he was elected people were saying he would actually achieve something useful and liked him. So far all he has done has taken more money from us and designed an internet censor... Now everyone hates his guts.

Me, I'm a pessimist. I'll give Obama 12 months before people who voted for him start hating him. I would have given Mccain a dual level - the people who voted for him because they thought he would be a good president would last 6 months, and the rednecks who voted for him on principle (you choose the principle) would last atleast 18 months.

Yeah, well, Rudd. In Australia, we have the humility to admit we're wrong. Obama's going to get re-elected no matter what he does.

But yeah, I would have a party if Obama failed miserably.

You forgot:

Obama's father is Malcom X
Obama's a muslim and related stuff (how could you forget this one?)
Obama's a communist
Obama according to the book of Revelations is the Anticrist
Obama won't wear the flag pin (another priceless one. This was brought up again after the 3rd debate, where Obama had a flag pin and McCain didn't)
Obama redesigned the US flag so that now it shows an O (it was the Ohaio flag)

And many more...

It is interesting to compare the Snopes list of the Obama/Biden with that of the McCain/Palin ticket.
Obama/Biden: 29 false; 10 multiple truth values; 2 undefined; 4 truth.
McCain/Palin: 13 false; 1 multiple truth values; 3 undefined; 5 truth.
Also notice that the Obama/Biden multiple truth are usually used to slander the Democrat candidates, while the McCain/Palin adresses the Roosvelt/Palin similarityes.

They will, and it'll show me nothing other than why the Conservative party is rubbish.

Wonderful, so we've got the UK and half of Germany. Yeah, that's a winning hand.

No 'we' about it. Having the stupider end of what will be a very small voting block in the UK supporting the conservatives proves nothing. It's going to be another 35-40% of the population, and 45-odd% of those voting getting in the Conservatives for 5 years, in which they will do damage to the NHS which will take 15 or 20 years to sort out.

I don't care, I just want the conservatives to win elections. If the world was cut up into electoral votes ala the US, we'd have about 2.75 votes now. Fuck yeah.

Conservatives.

Nah, it'd be more like 2 votes, so that Papua New Guinea, the Seychelles etc. felt more important :p

Well, I figure:

UK - Conservatives projected victory, one vote
Germany - CDU in a deadlocked coalition, half a vote
France - UMP, half a vote
Italy - PdL, half a vote

I miscalculated because I counted Austria. 2.5 electoral votes for the conservatives.

Well, technically speaking the nasty party in Poland lost the election. I'm sure Potato Factory didn't go by head of state. France, for instance...

Course, Turkey is currently conservative. It's mislabeled as a different brand of conservatism.

Poland is currently lead by Donald Tusk and his right-wing coalition.

Course, Turkey is currently conservative. It's mislabeled as a different brand of conservatism.

Yes, theocratic conservatism.

Here's how I figured electoral votes (one vote for each of the big four, a half for other countries.

Liberals: 10.5 votes
Conservatives: 10.5 votes
Undecided: 2 votes
Islamists: .5 votes

Hardly. The whole French election was a race to steal the ideas of the party to their right, the UMP stole the FN's positions and the PS stole the UMPs positions. Of course, Bayrou sat around being largely useless.

Yes, theocratic conservatism.

Turkey is distinctly not theocratic. In fact, that's one of the big controversies in their politics; religious fundamentalists attempting to introduce more religion into the secular Turkish government.

Bide your time:
within a year everyone will be cursing Obama as much as they have every other elected officialThat seems inefficient. Plenty of people have already decided against him, to save time, and to save doubt, have begun repeating the same bullshit attacks enough so other people repeat them, independent of dubiousness and acridity.
Then, having already established their obstinance, when someone wants to see who really had the skinny later on about something or another, they can gloat about how they hated him before it was cool to.
Or whatever.
